Been thinking about trying out this blend since both beers have just been released recently and they are local beers for me... Just sounds like it would be awesome!

I am thinking about a 50/50 blend of Bourbon County Brand Stout and Founders Breakfast Stout.

Has anyone tried this before and if so how was it?

Nope... sounds like it COULD taste good. I would do a tiny bit just to see how it would taste.

I've never tried it but I can't imagine it tasting bad.

I just did this two nights ago, had a Bourbon County, its a HUGE beer and I didn't feel like finishing the last 1/6th of the glass so I poured a cold bottle of FBS over it.......

It was amazing, I highly recommend it.

With the entire bottles? 1oz of each to sample?

50/50 meaning the exact same amount from each beer. What you trying to get at?

I wouldn't do 50/50, maybe 20% BCBS and 80% FBS. BCBS is a bourbon bomb by itself.

I don't get enough BCBS to be trying these types of things.

I know. I've seen posts on facebook of people getting enough to fill up a tub to bathe in.

I haven't but I mixed CBS and Blushing Monk about a month ago and it was delightful!

I haven't had BCBS but this is what I was thinking.

Never tried this blend, but I did blend a 12oz BCBS with a 750ml Alesmith Speedway Stout, (non-barrel). The result was very good. Both the BCBS bourbon flavor and the Speedway coffee notes were very balanced with this ratio.

    No, but......

I did add a drop of vanilla extract to a glass, then add about 8oz of BCBS '11 (per Rempo's request a while ago for someone to find out how much it would take to create a BCBVS).

No, never done it and wouldn't do it.

I don't like FBS and Bourbon County is a rare treat; I wouldn't want to taint it.

Although it might make the FBS better if you look at it that way.

Good, but the extract made it a little sweeter than I'd hoped. I'll probably try it on the 2012 batch if it is a little bit hot.

Interesting. Please share the results as I've had a few blends of stouts with vanilla and/or bourbon and the results have not been pleasing. I would be curious to try this with a vanilla bean pod (maybe just the hull - seeds removed) to see if that could be the trick. I will likely try this with NH Dragons Milk because it's hot and plentiful.
