    Picked up Galaxy Bowl and Stratus at the Beer Cellar over lunch. Beer Cellar owner (his name escapes me, sorry) said the Galaxy hops are not that pronounced. Excited to try it!

    This is the first time I've ever heard someone say they don't like galaxy hops.

    I understand the people who don't like Nelson. Or maybe something catty smelling hops...

    I think this beer will change your mind.

    To answer an earlier question, apparently Grand has NOT carried recent Hop Butcher beers. This one is on order, and HB seems to think they'll be getting it over to Grand. Obviously wasn't there when I checked.

    I don't know who the guy I talked to was (I don't talk to people much there, since I mostly hop in and hop out), but it was a Hispanic (I think) dude who seemed to be the beer buyer. He said that they haven't carried Hop Butcher because "he hasn't reached out to us in a while" (the owner of HB). Said they had Galaxy on order, but had no idea if/when it was coming for the same reason. So my guess is that they'll get it, but will have no idea until it's there.

    So I really want to try Galaxy Bowl and am calling BS on Hop Butcher to the World due to availability. When you can't satisfy demand for Chicago, you can't even call yourself Hop Butcher to the City.

    Reached out to Hop Butcher on Twitter to ask about Binnys on Grand. They said "it should eventually make it way there"

    I haven't seen their stuff at Binnys Grand in a long while, so I'll be interested to see if/when Galaxy Bowl does

    Galaxy Bowl is going to have fallen off before they get it distro'd.

    I was in Beer Temple earlier today and they said they expected it sometime today.

    That's an interesting comment by them since they self distribute, so what does "eventually" mean? Shouldn't it be there today or tomorrow??? Especially since they placed such an emphasis on drinking it ASAP (it was a tweet or IG comment where they mentioned that).

    Yeah, they also said "slow and steady" in regards to their distribution. No idea what that means.

    It's also interesting, given that the Beer Cellar in (I assume) Glen Ellyn had it, and Bottles and Cans had it, yet it hasn't made its way to many of the more central places in Chicago. Their distribution model seems like predictable than Mikerphone's.

    I suppose my comments did come off like I was going to the shed to get my pitchfork, but I was merely intrigued by that commentary. :grinning:

    You're right about the distribution model seeming a bit different. Slow and steady just seems like such a strange way to go about it when you're also emphasizing freshness.

    They could have paid me in a few cases of Galaxy Bowl to help distribute...but who am I kidding - the beer would've lost all freshness by time I was done delivering and I'd have to pour it down the drain. :grimacing:

    Yea, I know who that is. I talked to him this afternoon and he essentially said, we don't carry them because they never give us beer. This time they promised us beer but don't know when they're going to deliver it or how much they can give us.

    I had this same issue with them over the summer when I wanted their Alemerica pale ale. I actually emailed one of the guys over there to find out when it was going to drop, and he kept telling me they were going to distro it, and then it would get pushed back. For as good as the beer is, they don't seem to be good at the distro side of things.

    Interesting to hear. Perhaps they need to contact Pipeworks or Mikerphone about mapping out their distribution. Or, maybe we've just been spoiled by how well PW and Mikerphone seem to do theirs.

    Through trades, I'm gonna have juicy, galaxy bowl, Julius, and congress st all canned within the last 2 weeks. I should be receiving the beers in the next 5 days.

    I'll report out a blind taste test of those 4 in this thread... you know, for science

    My buddy got the last 4-pack at B&C. He's also going to TG this weekend as him and his fiance scored Mornin' Delight tickets and will be bringing back King Sue. Lucky dude and lucky for me, he's a good dude who will share. :grinning:
