I love Doppel, but its the red headed step child of the Very/King beers. Not sure why Alter and Doppel don't get the same love as their non-evil counterparts (Julius/King Julius).

Basically Alter and Julius are the same base beer with a different dry hop, and Doppel is King Julius with a different dry hop.

Because TH brews it often, so it obviously isn't as good. You can't taste the rare.

It used to be much better. Batch 1 of Doppelganger was brimming with rare.

Haha. This. I thought the last batch tasted a little less rare. Oh well, guess Treehouse is over now.

Doppelganger imo is in the convo for best (I)IPA they make. I'm not nearly as in love with Alter Ego as Julius but Doppel is very much toe to toe with KJ for me.

FWIW I like alter and doppel significantly more than J/KJ

Great to hear these opinions! I've had KJ, J, and Haze, really curious to try this one out then.

    This is hilarious.

I'm just not big on Alter. Its a great beer and all but I would never take one over a julius or especially green. Hell, its one of the few tree house ipas that I wouldn't take over a sip of sunshine. That said dopple is one of my favorite tree house brews. It ranks right up there with the rares. Very hazy is the only one that I would outright feel comfortable saying that I prefer. I only had a 750 of juice machine. I don't know how you can honestly rank a beer after trying it once. Was very good but how it falls into their lineup, I don't know.

Let dopple fly under the radar. That way I can get more.

I get to TH about once a month and was there yesterday (Weds), and it was a gorgeous drive. maybe not peak I guess but it was a lovely day.

Check out Peaked Mountain which is in Monson for a nice woods hike with a good vista.

I drove out to Treehouse today from Boston and leaves are started to turn yellowish, orange and saw some red hues. Really a pretty drive, but the traffic is another story..

Just cracked an In Perp....total malt bomb. Never seen a Tree House beer fall off this quick.

So you probably shouldn't let it sit in your fridge... In Perpetuity?

Was a nice drive out there for sure today and nice sitting in the sun for a bit before open.

Dopple is tasting very nice. It's drier and maltier than other TH dipas but it tastes like a really good batch

Question for those who have tried most or all of tree house double ipas-where does dopple rank?

Scroll up a bit and you'll see this same convo! Short version: It's a great beer that many think is underrated given the hullabaloo around KJ and very green, very hazy, etc . . .

For what it's worth, I prefer Julius/KJ to Alter Ego/Doppel, but my wife feels the other way around. I love all their beer but nothing beats Julius for me! That's what's lovely about TH -- it's all so excellent that most people who have been able to try their beer all have different preferences once they've cracked through the hype.

8 Haze and 4 Doppelganger with Julius and Lights On available in growlers is a really nice haul for anyone who was on the fence about going today.

I'm super excited to make my first trip up to Monson today. I was hoping today's can would be Green, but I heard everything they have is good. I plan to get there around 4, so I just hope everything is available. It's gonna be a great weekend!
