Looking for some Zombie Dust in Indy

Not sure where you are going to be, but most northern suburbs get it mid-week, like Wednesday/Thursday. I have seen it on the East Side of town on Wednesdays, but it typically comes and goes on the same day. Good luck.

 

I've usually had luck (randomly) on Thursdays at northside bottle shops. Shop early though; 2-3pm is when you'll have luck. I personally wouldn't go nuts trying to find it. Snag a 4-pk cans of Black Acre Natural Liberty instead -- you'll be just as satisfied.

You'll have an easier time finding it on tap than bottles...but if you're looking for good beer on draft, go to Deviate on the northside (not open Monday/Tuesday). You will not regret it, to say the least. It will be way better than searching for Zombie Dust.

 

What days of the week will you be in town?

 

There is a Crown Liquors downtown that doesn't set out their 3 Floyds stuff until Saturday mornings. That's likely your best bet. If you are there when they open you most likely will be able to grab some if they actually got a shipment that week. The other place I would try is called Goose the Market. I believe they get their shipments on Wednesdays. Watch their Twitter and they'll tweet if they have it typically. I've also had good luck at the Whole Foods on 82nd st in Nora. I think they get their shipment on Tuesday mornings. Otherwise, you'll need to get lucky and show up at liquor store at or close to when their shipment comes in and hope they received some.

 

Munster is only a few hours away if you are dead set on grabbing some. Check the FFF website first though. Realistically, your chances of finding ZD on a shelf in a bottle shop aren't going to be all that great in my experience.

 

Goose is really just a deli, but I can't vouch for a line. I've only been there once. If you do happen to make it there though, I highly recommend stopping at The Koelschip right next door. Its basically the taproom for Central State Brewing. But they usually have a bunch of great guest taps on as well.

My store (Crown Liquors #2 on Southport Rd.) gets our shipment of Three Floyds stuff on Thursdays. Typically, we get at least a case of Zombie Dust. So, if you want me to hold back a 6pk for you, I can do that. We also have around 8-10 different bombers available of their stuff too.

 

Zombie is a great beer, but the chase is no longer worth it to me. I second the notion of hitting Deviate Brewing on NW Side. They have a DIPA and IPA on tap right now I would pick over ZD every time.

 

Don't try, make it a priority! You won't regret it, to say the least...great Mexican food at taqueria don Ramon about 1 mile south of deviate on Michigan Rd too. Carry out and bring to deviate is my recommendation.

 

You can usually find it on tap using the TappedIn app. A few pubs that currently show they have it....
