Jackasses like this are going to ruin it for everyone else and Sand City. No way in hell a town like Northport will tolerate this. WTF is wrong with people that feel the need to act like this??

If I didn't know any better I would think One was Trillium Galaxy FFPA. Stuff is great!

Even Mo has a neutral / weird smell, but super tasty and smooottthhhh! Another great one. Mofo, Even Mo, Second Wave and One are a murderers row of IPAs, we are lucky to have them, world class.

Glad I'm not alone. First impression I had of One was that it's reminiscent of a Trillium IPA.

I don't know if I would be too worried about people drinking on line unless trash becomes a problem. there were a few pockets of people drinking (which I didn't get since we were waiting on line to go in and drink at the party). if police come by, they will be ticketed, if sand city gets a complaint they will change all releases to mid week drops like fade 2 jade (which most of the locals and thier core business prefer). sand city is definitely providing more of a boost to the area than a problem.

Why do beer people think it is ok to drink in public when at a beer release? Do they do this when they wait in line for movies, restaurants, etc? It is absurd that part of the beer community even remotely thinks this is OK. Anyone standing in a line at Sand City in Northport drinking beer is a self entitled dbag. Those aholes will ruin it for everyone else. 0 % chance Northport will allow this.

is there anyway to get to the brewery without driving? It's only a 40 mins drive from my home in the Bronx but I want to be able to enjoy the taproom without the concern of driving back

Doesn't look like there's any reasonable option to get out there besides driving. Find a friend that doesn't really drink and buy them a nice lunch to drive back. I've used that tactic many times.

Northport LIRR station is only a cab ride away. It's definitely a bit of a hike though where you're coming from.

actually...yes, ppl do drink in movies, they drink in parking lots outside of sporting events, concerts, on the beach...just about anywhere they want to and more often than not it is illegal. if people (not necessarily beer people, but just some subset of people) want to drink and/or do illegal things it *may* reflect on the event, but more often than not it is something that the individual risks on their own and gets penalized for on their own. this isn't a car ride to the amusement park w mom and dad where one misbehaving person will ruin it for everyone. sand city, other half, monkish, treehouse, hill farm, all these breweries that people line up for and decide to drink or not...they will not be shut down. they might be shut down in having pre announced releases where ppl line up for hours but the beer will still flow and still be made available for sale. a thriving business in a community is not at risk of shut down because of bad behavior of patrons nearby the business, unless the behavior creates immediate danger.

I understand that some people follow the rules at all points in life but other people are a bit more light hearted about things and drive 10 miles over the speed limit on occassion. to me beer is something that brings people together and is about being social and sharing and light heartedness. it pains me when I see people behave in a way that leaves a negative impact on a surrounding community because I don't want a business that I like to be given a hard time, but step back for a minute and realize that you are online to go into essentially a bar. your behavior before walking in is probably less concern to the surrounding community than your behavior walking out. get off your high horse of morality (read your post and think who sounds like a self entitled dbag) or be real and call out all the people who didn't drink online but went inside drank a bit too much and then got in their car...does that disgust you more than the person sharing a can of 7% ipa w a dozen ppl? how did you get home? did you grab cans and leave or did you hang for a pour or a few? what is your opinion of all the people who went inside for a beer or several and then drove? I personally was drinking coffee on the line. many of my friends were casually sharing beer, which I did not understand since we were waiting to go inside to drink but I had a sip here and there and when it came time go inside all garbage was cleaned and there was no noticeable rukus beyond just a line of people in the rain. I didn't drink because I wanted to drink a beer inside and then had to be able to drive. I saw lots of people inside getting pretty lit and this isn't other half where most ppl took trains. to me, that is my bigger concern. I could care less if a few ppl want to illegally have some beer on line, people donstuff like that all over the place all the time) but this hobby is all about drinking beer so to be dsgusted by that behavior seems a bit hypocritical. I mean you are waiting on line to buy beer in the rain and are disgusted to see someone drinking on the line...think about it for a minute.

I'm about a 2.5 hour drive from Sand City unfortunately. Look forward to trying their beers though. Was just trying to help @JoshVelez out. Last trip I did to treehouse and trillium I used my friend as a second allotment at TH to make the trip worth it. Cost me a breakfast sandwich and a lobster roll for dinner.
