First timer, Had a great time, got there about an hour before opening and was able to get full allotments. Turbo Nerd is awesome!! will definitely be on lookout for further releases.
So annoyed at myself for not doing a better job of checking things out. We were staying in a rented cabin in Blakeslee for the weekend and I could have easily headed over there for the release if I had done my homework and known about it.
Great time as usual. Got there pretty early(730-ish) and hung out with new friends and old cracking some great beers in front of the line. Best part, was back home by 1140. Can't beat the event atmosphere of the Sole releases lately.
So it looks like Joe is moving his operations back to Lehigh Valley for a new taproom in Easton. https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/solebarbottle/ I'm guessing he'll be brewing out of Funk again? This should make things more accessible to us older folk who don't wait in lines. The last Sole Ale I ever saw or tasted was Clink, almost two years ago. Obviously with the population density of Northampton County and the craft beer popularity there I think he's made the right decision.
Yeah, that plan seems to be ready to go for the Spring. It's supposed to nearby Freebridge Liquor in Phillipsburg. Not sure if the new space will have the capability for him to brew as well. Otherwise, I would expect him to continue to brew out of SBC or Funk. Seems unlikely he'd pick a place he can't brew in. Northampton County's craft population is high, but I am pretty sure Luzerne/Lackawanna has it beat especially when you factor in the large crowds Joe is drawing for every release at this point(Kushy Clouds notwithstanding). I'll miss the releases when they move for sure..
