Since this was not a super secret email...

One bottle per mug member, $50, to be reserved by email only. No date for pickup yet. No proxies for pickup.

I can't handle this much goodness out of TG in a 48 hour period...

Remember last year when the MD emails went out and beeradvocate kept deleting the details of the email as they were posted?

Well, last year's email said that if you posted the details you'd lose your mug club membership. This year's did not. I checked. Twice.

What was the reasoning for TG not wanting mug club releses not being shared publicly? Just curious

I would say, but my comment would get deleted....best to just not question it

There's definitely a pun in here somewhere. I would too.

I've been fortunate enough to have it quite a few times and while it is indeed fantastic, no beer is $100/22oz good to me. I know for many people, $500+/22oz is not an issue though, that's just not me.

The email clearly says $50 bottle of Assassin.

Can't wait to see what they'll retail KBBS 2016...

    Again...$50, not $100

What are some of your favorite "cheaper" options of this variety then? I was lucky to try some Assassin at the Chainsmoker release, but doubt (at least in the short term) I'll try for it again.

I'm adding in the additional $50 for Mug Club membership, as up to this point in 2016, no other beers have been reserved for Mug Club members.

Off the top of my head:
    • Black Note
    • BA Ten Fidy
    • Black Tuesday
    • BA Silhouette
    • CW Anniversary
Lots of beers of nearly equal quality that are much easier and cheaper to acquire.

Mug Club has other benefits not just bottle reservations. It's not fair to include it in the price of a release.

I'd wager a bet it'll be $50/12oz bottle for KBBS. And while it's easily the best beer I've ever had, I'd be hard pressed to pay that much for it.

True. I guess you do get 4oz larger pours (on year round offerings) at the taproom and a free birthday pint. Unless you live in Decorah though, nobody is taking advantage of those two benefits to make the $50 fee worth it. Don't kid yourself if you think people don't buy the membership with the hopes of having a shot at hard to get beer.
