Twin Cities Bottle Hunt - 2016 Edition

Just wanted to chime in and say that I thought that last year's Night Falls variants were fantastic. I haven't had many of LTD's beers but those were home runs, in my book. Reminded me very much of Central Waters' BA stouts.

I'm sure that Barleywine is tasty, but I'm not a fan of the style.

 

Plenty left at ale jail. 5 or so cases

 

It's not the new shiny, but it still tastes good to me. TW Maple Grove has Indeed Double Day Tripper for $6.99 a 4-pk,

 

Shorewood Liquor has Damien, Fair State Frontenac, and Barrel Aged Libertine. A few bottles of AB Noir as well...

 

Rum King is out at the Ale Jail.

Hyvee in Oakdale has it for $20/4-pack with no limits. I am guessing the Cub Liquor across the street is similar. Cub Liquor at Sun Ray and MGM Saint Paul also likely have it, but they are completely surrounded by construction. Let me know if you have any issues getting it. I work in building 235 and could give up a 4-pack.

Rum King- I just grabbed the last two 4-packs at TW Maple Grove.

 

Anyone got a lead on Odell Jolly Russian??? Want to do a side by side with Rum King

 

Curious if anyone has had any of this 9/20 batch of Todd. Normally I go to crazy over each batch, but I send a few cans out and just cracked one.
I would not have guessed this to be Todd at all. Curious if anyone has an opinion as well.

 

Care to elaborate? Was gonna grab some tomorrow.

 

It seems like they skipped the dry-hopping. It has a slight Mosaic aroma, but mostly it tastes like a Mosaic citra beer. Really upsetting actually. I told myself I was done with $16 Todd for the year, but this was 3 weeks old, so I gave it a swing.
Zero haze, light aroma, almost bitter hoppiness.
Not hazy, bursting with aroma, sweet and hoppy. Basically the opposite of what I wanted.
Sorry, but I'd pass on this run.

 

Bummer...I'll probably just hold out for abrasive at this point.

I found the 9/7 Todd batch to be my least favorite of the year. Doesn't have the hop punch that you'd usually expect.

 

Got one yesterday at top 10 in Blaine. I actually did a side by side myself and ended up preferring the Odell.
