This might merit it's own new thread, but pretty massive plans for the new space JA is taking over next door were just announced. Essentially an entirely new brewery with its own taproom and branding, focusing on ales and barrel aged beers, to be called Springdale.

These guys are doubling down on expansion and have killed it thus far. With their reputation I'm excited for anything they do. Saw a post on Facebook by them that mentioned they'll do a ton of sours, hopefully we see some nice stouts as well. The NE IPAs are an interesting twist, never mind trying a new one of those. Hope it's successful!

As a side note, I wonder how many times they've been approached for a buyout, seem like one of the prime candidates out of the Northeast.

Interesting the mention of NE style IPAs as I have talked to a couple brewers there that have referred to that type of IPA as lazy brewing.

Should be a cool projext overall though.

We are equal parts excited and terrified. We upgraded from 12,000 to 67.000 sq ft last year and are about to double again. Though, a lot of the new space will not be utilized for a few years. We feel this is a great way to keep the current focus on our Jack's Abby brands while creating a new team to focus on sours and a couple ales. Over the past few months we have expanded from ~200 to ~1000 wine barrels and plan to expand that to 3000-4000 over the next 1-2 years. We also have a few foeders on the way.

We are doing some pilot IPAs that will be available in the Beer Hall in the near future.

I am not sure who said that, but it is certainly not a position that my brothers and I share. I{PAs will not be the focus but they are part of the plan and we are doing a couple pilots right now. We hope to be able to brew a lot of new styles and really expand on our sour offerings.

I wasn't trying to imply it was the company's stance. Just found it interesting that it is a couple of peoples stance there. Im looking forward to trying all the new stuff.

Very cool, amazing growth. @JacksAbbyBrewing curious if this will affect the focus of the JA lineup in any way...for example will there still be sour lagers or will souring efforts be migrated entirely to the Springdale brand?

We plan to move over all of the Sour Project beers to Springdale. However, The Cranberry Berliner is staying as JA. There is still a lot up in the air but a simple guide is that anything that gets distributed under the JA brand should stay that way. The goal of building a new team is to keep Jack's Abby focused on what we are already doing.

Anyhow, this is Joe and I'll be working out of the new space. I'll be happy to answer questions, as I can, and update you all on the build out.

Hey Joe, really excited about the new space! Knowing a lot is probably still up in the air, when you say a "Winter opening", are we talking Christmastime, or around February?

Also, is the intention to have 12oz bottles to go, or will the smallest size to get brews be in bombers/growlers?

    Thanks!

We'd love to tell you Christmas time, but there's simply too much to do that's out of our hands at this point. I can tell you with certainty that the beer will be ready very soon, so here's hoping we have somewhere to serve it! We'll update as much as we can as we progress.

We will have 500ml bottles of beer to go. Smaller sizes may one day join the lineup, but that'll be down the line. We will have growler options as well. Cheers!

Will these beers ever be distributed similar to JA? I live in NY and would love to see them in my local beer stores.

Are BA Framinghammer and variants still available to go in bottles? The web site makes it appear they are, but the pages for each beer say they were an April release. Curious since I'll be in the area Saturday. Thanks.

Swung by last light and there were a handful of coffee variants in the cooler. Good amount of BA Lager Wine as well.

Sorry, @jukev, we aren't planning any distribution, even in state. Hope you can make it out our way someday, Framingham is definitely worth a visit!
