Chicagoland NE IPAs (2018)

Not to belabor the point any more about thread size, etc., but breaking it up into different threads just means more threads to go through as well if you're trying to navigate brewery specific info. I honestly don't think it matters much - if people want to veer off on tangents or have things devolve into a s**tshow, it's gonna happen regardless. I just think the smart thing would've been to give users a notice. I've also never participated on a forum with so much moderation, so it's a bit different for me - I've used a couple wine forums for years, and they pretty much let things go, unless it gets too personal, political, etc.

As for the Galaxy Bowl distribution, let's hope that Hop Butcher can develop a bit better distribution process, as this was frustrating for many. Just wait until the next batch they do, and imagine the craziness that will ensue now that people actually know ahead of time what the beer is like.

 

Did you get any of the "off" flavors in Special Sauce that others have experienced with some of Mikerphone beers, such as soapy, green, etc.?

Yeah they haven't delivered to a lot of those in a long time... Galaxy Bowl even made it to places not on this list. Just tough to get a handle on where things are going to be with these guys.

 

What @galos11 said...Hop Butcher has been tweeting/istagramming some of the stops along the us and their website isn't all inclusive. Definitely need to be more consistent on their distribution timing/footprint but excited to try this beer tonight.

I thought that was Milkstachio, not the Colombian. Either way, both are delicious!!

 

I asked them on twitter and thats what they told me.. which shows how responsive they are! Either way I would take either of those.

That makes sense...do they have a brick and mortar location or so they brew out of somewhere?

 

Plus you never know what they're hop contracts are. Galaxy in that abundance may limit the number of times they can brew it. Pure speculation on my part though.
