Wells' Bombardier. Now it may be 4.1% abv, but who's to say that the last batch I had didn't come in .1% low on abv???? :grinning::grinning::grinning:

I had a similar experience with Marston's Pedigree recently. Something I'd normally turn a blind eye to it really wasn't that bad a pint. Of all the ubiquitous mainstream large brewery beers though the one that really shines on cask, and I mean transforms from an ugly caterpillar into a Goliath Birdwing, is Old Peculier. The bottled version tastes like a cheap Chinese knock-off. Well over 4% though, so not for here.

Off topic but I regard Pedigree as a test of cellarmanship. Well kept it is a classic pint, otherwise it is just ordinary.
