Backwoods Bastard is supposed to hit the first week of November in Southwest Ohio. I've seen some reports that it's out, but the beer store guy by me said not until November.

Yeah, 1st week in November here in Ohio. Kentucky has already gotten theirs. The Party Source has a huge stack of cases on the floor as of 2 days ago; I grabbed 3 four packs. Tasting awesome, as always.

Anyone know roughly how long Hop Stalker will be around? Will be in the area in a couple weeks, but wasn't sure if it would still be around. Timed it right last year on my trip out there, and have to say it's right there with JuJu for me.

I've been out of town so maybe this has been mentioned elsewhere but Heinen's has a fair amount of Xocoveza kegs and has declared October to be Xocoveza month. At the University Heights store they have growler fills for $18. Haven't checked the other stores but I'd be surprised if they aren't likewise.

It sucks when stores charge more for growler fills of a beer than what it costs for the packaged product; it shouldn't be that way. The 6ers are $17 +tax for 72 ounces. Here, they're charging the same price (or slightly more) for less beer. A head scratcher for sure.

For anyone going to Fat Heads this weekend. I love the BA. Battle Axe, but the '14 rye that was on at the taphouse last night? Holy shit!

The comparison I've always used is how much it would cost for a pint off a tap in a bar, which in this case would be at least $5 and probably more like $7. I'm not saying that to be argumentative because nobody likes to save money more than I do and even more expensive growler prices enter my do-not-consider zone. So rightly or otherwise, I don't consider that so bad compared to what I've seen elsewhere.

It also has to do with how much the keg COSTS the place that sells growler fills/pints. Kegs are usually more expensive than the packaged product so the growlers/pints are more expensive too.

Especially if they are 1/6bbls. Best example, Dortmunder 1/6's cost more per ounce than just buying bottles...its absurd.

All releases will be at both locations except Bourbon Barrel Aged Locktender Imperial Stout which is a limited one day release, Sunday 10/16 at the production brewery in Cleveland Heights.

EXACTLY! 1/6's are the highest cost out there. It's crazy when we get them in and I compare the prices to 4/6-packs.
