Any word on when the 16 should be out? Realized that the bottle I kept seeing over by me is actually from 2014 and bought it. So it'll be interesting to try it alongside the 16 when it comes out.

I seem to recall seeing this show up in December last year, but am nt sure of the actual date.

Last year was the same weekend as the de Garde release party. That was right before Thanksgiving.

The '15 hung around here for a while and probably can still be found. I love it fresh but a year did some incredible things to the '14 I had.

I can see a bottle right now, just sitting on the shelf. Hint: Meateor.
Edit: of the 2015, that is.

Hopefully getting a case shipped to me next week. In my opinion, this is the best bourbon barrel barleywine in the nation. Incredible!

It's good, but I'll take Brew 1000 over it any day.

Ha ha! Pretty much exactly what I was going to say. MOAS is very, very good, but at least for my palate, it really doesn't hold a candle to the Brew 1000.

MoaS is easier to get. Stays on shelf a long time around here.

Thanks, I put my name down a day after the list started so hopefully I'll still get the call. In years past it has lasted a few days...

MOAS is a great beer, but I think it makes one of the strongest cases that I know for the introduction of a 6-8 oz. bottle format for some of these bigger brews. I have a high threshold for sweetness, but it (like its base barley-wine, Stormwatcher's Winterfest) just has an intensely rich toffee/butterscotch-type note that bludgeons me into submission in short order.

And not that I want to go further stimulating interest in Brew 2000 elsewhere in the country whenever it's released, but I join my regional compatriots in believing Brew 1000 to be in a different league. It was/is memorably rich and flavorful without being cloying, a test I'm not sure MOAS, good as it is, fully passes.

Sounds likes I'll have to try and trade for a bottle then!
