Your "up to 1" bottle of Prop will set you back $20.

I wonder how limited this beer is going to end up being. I feel like 1 bottle is a pretty weak limit, but I recognize Prop isn't something they make a ton of given it's Chicago only (well, Chicago-only-ish.. We've gotten it here every year but last year).

Still - sounds like a fun time and I'm hoping I win!

Free? Well, I guess I can be able to afford a vintage bottle and one more Prop bottle on Black Friday only if I win the lottery

For those who haven't been to the Barrel Aging Warehouse, I would try to enter the lottery. The place is beautiful and I'm sure the beer will be amazing.

Pretty much everything last year was limit one with the exception of regular, which most places were limit two on those. If you actually have a job with a regular schedule, it isn't easy to find this stuff. That said, only one bottle at the Goose party does sound weak. I seem to recall you could get more than one at Rare Day last year.

You guys!! Shhhut up! The more that enter, the harder it is to win.

Yeah that's what I meant -- the limit seems a little weak for the event itself. Rare Day had a 3 bottle limit, though there was a lot more of that than there is of Prop any given year.

For all the crap GI/ABI get, at least the price seems good, relative to the market.

Prop, a one-time (recipe-wise) barrel aged stout only available in Chicago is $20 at the brewery. Darkness, an annual non-BA stout available in multiple states was $20 at the brewery. I know it's not cool to point out the good things about GI/ABI, but they could charge more than $20 for Prop if they wanted to.

Except for with Darkness, you get 50% more to drink in a bottle. Just keeping it in perspective.

Good point. Even with that, I'd still think Prop would be higher in today's world of beer pricing.

Actually closer to 25%. BCBS is a 16.9oz bottle, Darkness is 22oz.

    Darkness $/oz - $0.90
    BCBS Prop $/oz - $1.18

    edit: nevermind! i'm wrong.

This year's Darkness bottles are 25.4 oz.. The new Bourbon County bottles are 16.9 oz. or 500 ML. 16.9 x 1.5 (or 150%)= 25.35 oz. At $20 for a bottle of Darkness at Darkness Day, that makes it closer to 78.7 cents per ounce.

Bottle allocation aside, this seems like a pretty steep drop off from Rare Day. 2 tokens for 3oz pours of BCBS? If I recall, Rare Day was 5 tokens and pours were probably 8-10oz. Also, Rare Day had all the 2015 and 2014 variants pouring.

I get that Rare Day was Goose's big, one-in-a-lifetime, blowout party. Obviously going to be difficult to recreate. I'll still enter the lotto and have fun at the party if I get the chance to go, just tempering my expectations a bit.

I stand corrected.. Thought Darkness was a 22oz-er.. When did that change?

One thing to also remember, fwiw -- Darkness isn't barrel aged.
