Anyone try this year's version of Twin Pines Mall? This was one of my favorite beers last year, and one of the most unique beers I'd tried. I'd had some spruce/pine tip beers before, but that was the first I really enjoyed. I thought it had a really smooth sweetness up front with that bitter spruce bite on the finish. Unfortunately, I'm a little disappointed in how the 2016 version turned out. It's a decent beer, but I'm not getting that burst of honey sweetness I found in last year's batch and the spruce definitely seems more forward. Not bad, but it seems like it's lost the qualities that made it stand out.

I liked this version, but the previous batch was a bigger deal to me.

Whether my palate has shifted or the new version was "worse", I can't really say...I'm experiencing diminishing returns on pretty much every Pipeworks beer these days, so a palate shift is probably more likely.

I'm really not trying to be "that guy". I do think palates change over time & the things you loved one year might not translate to the next.

Maybe I had a palate change too, but the last batch of Lil Citra just wasn't on par with the last couple before.

I didn't like the initial batch of Lil Citra, but the most recent batch completely changed my mind. Love it now.

I loved batches 1,2, and 3. Batch 4 just doesn't do if for me. I could have sworn the first few had a little of a fruitier taste and full fruity aroma.

Anyone had Lil Citra on tap lately? I had it a couple weeks ago and actually made them pour me another one it was so different. They did and it still tasted off.... Not bad by any means just not like Lil Citra. I wonder if there lines were crossed.

It's the "fire" that scares me...Habanero has just never worked for me in beer!!

Pipeworks / TG Double Creature Feature hit today, but getting some was a little savage. Surbubs spots I go to got 1 or no cases, grabbed a bottle by work and then my store by home guy is holding onto one for me. Ardmore sold out of their case in about 10 mins.

This might be the first Pipeworks dry hopped IPA I've seen. That might be a reason why it's flying so quickly. That and the fact that it's a TG collab.

Just because it doesn't say it its dryhopped, doesn't mean its not dryhopped. I've never watched them brew, but i'd be more than shocked if PWs has never dryhopped.

I grabbed a couple of the Double Creature Feature today at Bottles & Cans. They seemed to have at least 6 left when I was there. I am skeptical on this one, but a comment I heard about the heat being subdued encouraged me to give it a try, and I picked up one for my brother as well.
