I recently used beerofbelgium.com and picked up Cantillon Gueuze and Kriek, + Westy 8 and 12 for $80 after shipping. Took only 2 weeks and everything arrived intact.

    Wait... Belgium is far?!?1

Seriously. I expected it to be high, but not that high. I was expecting like, $80-90.

How many bottles? Shipping is going to be crazy, but if it could be worth it if they had some good stuff on there.

Who cares if it's an extra $50, someone is bringing you beer from another hemisphere directly to your house.

For the same amount of bottles, shipping from BiaB was only about $70.

So yeah, Trappist World being almost 2x as much is sort of ridiculous. I didn't realize so many people here take criticism of Belgian beer websites so personally though.

Ok if I order I'll go through biab, I was genuinely curious $130 is a lot for shipping and I assumed it was a big order.

I've ordered Absinthe back in the day, you pay more for private courier to bypass customs inspections. Perhaps in today's world it isnt quite the same. Probably still much cheaper than trading and you pick exactly what you want.

Yeah that's high. I would expect close to $10 a bottle, so the biab prices seem more in line with that. I do have a few Belgians that I've been iso for a while and might need to bite the bullet.

excuse my ignorance on the subject, but is Cantillon somewhat available in bottle shops in the US, or do you have to order it? Can't recall seeing it, but then again, not something I've tried to hunt down. Cheers.

Sure kinda, I have bought it twice both times randomly at Murray's Cheese Shop in NYC once was a 330ml bottle of Classic for $21.99 and tbt can't remember what the other was maybe it was Rose de Gambrinus. Either way it's rare and it's still generally expensive at least where I am.

I've been trying to place an order from Trappist World (got a few gents together for bulk and free shipping), but it keeps saying that no courier delivers to my address. It's in Pennsylvania and not a PO Box or anything of that sort. I also tried my folks place in WV and a friends address close by, no dice.

Anyone ever had this issue with them? I emailed their customer service, no reply yet.

TrappistWorld has the most stuff in stock, and the best inventory, but the prices are very high and I'm finding they are extremely slow and the customer service there is non-existent. They say orders ship within 24 hours, however, an order on the 10th went out on the 16th and it's been trouble ever since. This should have hit JFK in 4 to 5 days and been delivered a few after that, but there have been no updates to tracking in 11 days. Numerous emails to TW have all been not replied to.

Bpost tracking looks odd to me because it said the package was received manually at the counter, then said it was sorted twice, then it said it departed twice (both time stamps within one minute). After that it said item info registered and it's on its way to the destination, this was on the 17th. That was the last update and Bpost customer service link says not found, which is why I keep reaching out to TW. I've done international before, so I know it takes time, but it shouldn't be en route for 11 days without a scan and arrival unless it's on a life raft or sail boat. I've never seen a package from Belgian to me not hit JFK in under a week and then go to USPS and deliver within the next few days.

Just trying to save people headaches because I truly have no idea what to do and I'm going to be out a decent amount of money. I have no idea if I can even dispute this since I clearly made the order and have been contacting the company about it. If I dispute the charge and the company looks into it and see I've been asking about my order then couldn't I get in trouble?

Everyone, please make sure to NEVER order from Trappistworld, even if you've had success in the past!!! They used to be good, but now they're one of the worst and most expensive, meaning you're out more money if you get screwed. Disregard everything they list on their site about satisfaction guaranteed, money back guarantee, fast shipping, items in 5 to 12 days, etc. I ordered 6 weeks ago and the tracking provided has not had a scan since the day it was "shipped", on October 17th. The tracking has said the same thing since that date. My emails and inquiries go ignored and I've had no customer service or help from them at all. I contacted Bpost and they said I can't do anything because the sender has a business account and they must initiate all inquiries on package disputes. I was able to open a dispute with my card company, but they get 90 days to reply before I get reimbursed. Avoid the headache here, even as a repeat customer because it seems like if you have order issues this is where they're going to not give a shit.

First time I ordered from them was last February. Received everything in 2 weeks. Two of the bottles were leaking due to the temp fluctuation and I emailed customer service. They responded within 36 hours and refunded me the shipping costs for the inconvenience. I just ordered again from them which took a little longer due to the holidays but everything came in great. They are def pricey but I'd honestly rather deal with them than hassle through buying trade bait and waiting for a bite.

    PSA:

trappistworld.com has Fou (12 left) and Westy 12 (31 left) on their site right now as of December 10th!

They're not cheap I might add but well worth it for some!
    Cheers!

If you want anything worth the shipping better get some chrome addons and a bot.
