If the (little) memory I have of Athens during Halloween weekend is any indication, that's going to be pretty insane having BB Black Maple the same weekend.

I'm going to dress up as a Woodford barrel and try to get a JO bartender to fill me up with Oro Negro. Newest member of their mobile barrel program.

@beace Is the BBBM going into distro again, or all in Athens? I would have sworn I saw you say something about no distro on it this time around.

Random question. You guys think Jackie O's will ever take a shot at the "New England IPA"? I think it would be killer

LOL nope! Unless those tired hands guys can ever sneak in a hazy collab that wont happen. Mandala still satisfies my hop thirst and if I need haze I'll make the drive to Hoof.

Nah. Their hop-forward stuff is great already. I'm happy with Dilly Dally, Mystic Mama, Sun Village, Morning Cloak and the Mandala series.

Actually yeah they have more than a few beers, unless I'm totally off base, where I thought the official description actually mentioned something about New England or East Coast style, or hazy, or juicy fruity etc...it's just they're not like, fully opaque tan milkshakes.

I actually enjoy that newer NE style, but Jackie O's really has no reason to start. What they do is great already. I've gotten to like their hops more and more over the last few years(maybe the only broad area I once wasn't a huge fan of). And no, they likely won't can them in visually appealing tall boys with goofy names a la Tired Hands/Hoof Hearted/The Veil/Other Half/Monkish/Treehouse.

But if they did and the cans looked extra neat...CAN YOU GUYS IMAGINE THE TRADE VALUE?!?!?!?!

We did one about 18 months ago with Yellow Springs Brewery called "Green Flowers." There have been some batches of our double IPAs that sometimes have a slight haze, but are not "NE Style." A few pale ales at the brewpub have a distinct haze to them due the use of fruit purees. Not sure when using a descriptor such as "juicy" or "fruity" became directly linked to NE IPA, but we find them helpful in describing many styles of beers. All mentioned beers above were 7 - 40bbl batches that were brewed once or periodically. We will stick with what we do, clear, clean IPAs. I feel its a little late to jump into this trend/movement. We would also need to invest in the ability to fill 16oz cans and label them. The fact that we make clear beer is now an issue because accounts will assume its NE Style with the slightest haze or complain to the distributer that the beer is off. I considered doing a run of mystics without fining the brite tank. I was concerned that the consumers would automatically praise its turbid nature due to the rise/hype of this new style. Therefore leaving the original, clean, crisp mystic in the dark. I couldn't do that to the beer that built this company, to much respect for that beer personally.
