moderntimesbeer Currently bottling our collab with the homies at @KentFallsBrewing and @OtherHalfNYC, and it is looking extremely bomb. This tart saison was brewed with oats & spelt and dry hopped with Amarillo, Hallertau Blanc, & Motueka after mixed fermentation & 7 months in red wine barrels. Prepare your grill-piece for a complex bundle of funk-sorcery with a fruit forward hop aroma and a lingering, oaky finish. We’ll post more info on how to snag bottles via our email list, which you can totally join via our profile link.

Is there distribution to local liquor stores of the mainstay beers?

Nope, they don't hit distribution unless they sit for a long time at the brewery.

(And liquor stores don't sell beer in New York.)

I dont know if many of you are following the fiascos at Tired Hands with MagoTago and Trillium with Never & Again. But it makes me appreciate Other Half more for dumping the first batch of Debbie Downer and not trying to peddle us a terrible beer that turnend out like garbage.

Don't recall Monkish ever coming here but do you think we'll see an "LAX2JFK"?

I disliked Grape Conversate, but it was just a bad beer, not a complete drain pour.

I don't really understand the hate on this beer. It's different for sure, but I think it's pretty damn tasty for what it is.

Just because you didn't like it doesn't make it bad.

The released Debbie Downer was bad too. I think it was the mangoes, since it's the only ingredient in all 3 beers. Battery acid astringent finish for me.

I didn't think the release of Debbie Downer was bad at all. Had cans and on tap around the city. I didn't hear any outrage over it that I've been reading about MagoTago and Never & Again.

Just because you liked it doesn't make it good either...

Please tell me where I stated that I liked it or that it was a good beer. Smh.

I'll jump into this argument as a fan of Grape Conversate too. It's totally not an IPA by any typical standards, but I really liked it. Admittedly, I'm a very big fan of red wine barrel aged things, grape must, etc; anything that gives a tangy vinous note to a beer. I had a can of it a couple nights ago and it has started to taste even more like red wine than it did on Day 1. Maybe it was a misnomer to label it an IPA and promote it as "grape drank" as those labels lead you to expect certain things that are not present here: huge hops and candy sweetness. I'll take anyone's extra cans if you're considering pouring them down the drain.

Debbie Downer, though. I had it fresh on tap in the city when first released and it was so nice up front - mango, papaya, pineapple, all those things....only to end in the most unpleasant prickly throat burning I've ever experienced with a non-pepper beer. It tasted like unfermented IPA wort. I actually had a can of it the other night (ancient, I know), and it only reaffirmed my initial impressions. There's something about mangoes apparently that gives off that throat burn. Not a fan.

    My two cents.

I liked Grape Conversate (cans), Topical Depression (draft), Debbie Downer (draft), & MagoTago (draft). Don't need a hop bomb face peeler every time. I like those too tho!

I also really enjoyed the Grape. Hope they make that one again!

Loved Debbie Downer. It was a little sharp, but I didn't feel it was unfinished.

Grape Conversate on the other hand, tasted like actual vomit. I rarely drain pour these fresh IPAs like this, but it was totally undrinkable.
