I'll take Hop Stalker for a $1 less a 4-pack and much fresher.

Perhaps you will...but not many other people can access that, so a widely distributed wet hop ale such as Harvest seems like a good choice.

Full disclosure..I haven't had this year's yet to say if it's as good as everyone seems to think it is.

Not saying it's a bad choice. I think Founders Harvest Ale is very good. Fat Head's is way better and I love supporting my local brewery, especially when they are putting out an amazing product. I would also take Lagunitas Born Yesterday for $11 a 6-pack too. That's a widely distributed Fresh Hop Ale too.

I'm all about supporting the local guys as well, but was just pointing out that most people reading this can't get the beer you referenced. I'm not a big fresh hop ale guy myself, but I'd be intrigued to try Fat Heads version.

Yeah, I would love to buy Hop Stalker, but that's not an option in IL.

Finally found it in Indy. Just picked up 2 four packs for about $15 each including tax.

The obsession with "fresh" beer is really getting silly. Harvest Ale was bottled at the beginning of October and now cause it's a few weeks old it's not fresh anymore? Nonsense.

Perhaps I missed it, but I don't see anyone saying that on this thread?

See, for me the alarming thing is "$1 cheaper". For real? A dollar?

We all have our triggers it seems. :stuck_out_tongue:

Let's see, Harvest bottled on 10/3 or Hop Stalker bottled 10/17. Hmmm 2 weeks seems much fresher to me. Nowhere did I say Harvest was OLD, but nice job.

Alarming? People are taking beer WAY too seriously these days. My point was (and thanks for everyone misinterpreting what I said) that I would take a beer that is fresher AND cheaper AND I like it much better as well than Harvest Ale. So there ya go.

I just see a lot of people complain about beer prices on here; it's a pet peeve of mine since we're all OBSESSED with beer but an extra buck or two seems like a federal case.

    Sorry if I offended/misinterpreted.

i hate to say it, but i do think harvest ale has already fallen off. i had a 4 pack around the 14th and had another 4 pack around the 21st and the beers i drank on the 14th had a much cleaner and less of a malt taste.

i am not ruling out that it could be due to the 2nd 4 pack not being refrigerated and sitting on the shelf at meijer.
