THIS. Our goal is to produce the best tasting beer on the planet for a fair price. I don't know how the meme got started that our beer is expensive when it's lower priced than our competitors.

Of course the most important thing to us is quality; we are very competitive people constantly blind tasting our beer against other beers, thinking critically, studying, experimenting and tweaking. We are absolutely dedicated to our creative path and we intend to become the best brewers alive cost be damned.

Martin at Westside Market told me they found a space of the Montrose L stop on Meserole, so I assume it will at least be near the Well. A lot of empty warehouses around there...

The markups have nothing to do with you. I remember you posted what you sell them for at cost and the msrp. If stores want to mark it up any higher, then it's out of your hands. They see the supply and demand and know they can get a few bucks more then msrp, especially in NYC where everything is priced higher.

It's pretty simple. If the price to perceived quality ratio isn't good enough for you personally, don't buy it. Sometimes on these threads you'd think these poor people were being marched all over town with a gun held to their head.

Kane is obviously fantastic but I really enjoyed Magnify's Dr. Zaic. They're a bit inconsistent, but still very much a quality brewery.

Not to get too far off topic, but Contractual Obligation cans were as good as any Grimm can I've had in the last year outside of Magnetic Compass (which was stellar).

Back on topic, the reality is the price is off putting. However for most beer nerds, it is not going to stop them from buying it. Grimm does not set the price of the retail shops, so if you don't like the price do your hunting elsewhere. They make great beer, and clearly people will pay the premium for it. If I saw a 4pack of Trillium on the shelf for $30, I would be shocked at the price, then proceed with it to the checkout (and likely go back the next day for more).

For me, the Grimm bottles are the better buy. I think the sours and stouts are better than the hops in terms or price/quality ratio, and the price is more in line with competition (again, not Grimm's fault).

I feel exactly this way. I consistently pay $9/can for each of their IPA releases and have no problem doing so. It's not worth it to me to travel around the city searching for the best price when I walk by a shop that sells them twice daily for a slight markup due to location. If the beer wasn't worth it to me I just wouldn't buy it. But it is, so I do.

i agree with you guys. you can find them for $5 - $9 each. pay whatever you want or buy a different beer. the craft beer game isn't cheap. some people have a higher price limit for beer then others. do what you want, buy what you want and spend what you want.

    cheers

It doesn't looks like WF 57th is getting cans in per the guy behind the cheese counter but they did have about 12 bottles of Field Rotation handy so not a total loss for walking in the rain.

Anyone have Splish within the past few days? I bought 2 cans when released but have yet to try them. I know they're at the 30 day mark so was just curious.
