Damnit, why do people keep adding coconut to things! They know it's my weakness!!!

 

Oh don't worry, the coconut version at The Big North was terrible, so just stay at home for this one. (...looking at schedule to see what days I can get out of work for the release...)

Bumping this thread to mention that Orin is pretty, pretty good. Reminds me of Kuhnehnn with how big and brawly it is. Line was minimal and moved really quick. Hopefully Benthic will be about the same. Nice work as always, HA.

 

Any one been by recently? Think it lasts untill after work?

How's the Orin bottle count looking? Safe to get there around 6pm?

 

I remember not being crazy about Orin when I had it at Big North, Benthic though...

 

I got mine at around 4:30pm. The line was minimal and a lot of bottles were in stock.

 

Orin may be one of the best BA beers I have ever had hands down.

 

Where does it rank if you weren't confined to keeping your hands down?

 

LOL. It is right up there with the big BA beers out there. Its tough because stylistically its different from alot of well regarded beers. I would put it right up there with BAA, Maman, Any BCS variant ect. I dont know if its because I wasnt expecting it to be that good or what but it is an outstanding brew.

 

Recent batch (10/11) of Navaja was just flat out bad. Way too bitter with very little of the pineapple taste in previous batches.

 

It's funny, I actually enjoyed the latest batch quite a bit, and didn't think it was super bitter. But I also haven't had the types of swinging reactions that others on this forum have had to the different batches; I've liked most of them similarly.

 

Love Orin. Already drank 1 of my 2 bottles, and not sure how long that second bottle will last. Tastes like an thick alcoholic chocolate covered cherry. I want to say it has characteristics of a barleywine, but it definitely isnt a barleywine. Glad that HA will be having this on draft for a while, because I need my fix! ....and that Pineapple pork burrito....

 

Orin was amazing at Big North. It was better than Benthic. Orin with maple = not good.

 

Hoping they bring both Orin and Benthic to Fobab.

 

So, it sounds like it was pretty chill to get bottles of Orin, but nobody mentioned if they were there at opening to see what the line was like. Does anyone have an official report of what it was like when they opened?

 

When I drove by it looked like there were 50-60 people, wrapped around the bock.. When I got in line it was down to about 20-30. Went quick

 

I don't doubt your numbers but I'm just confused how this lasted almost 2 full days
