Twin Cities Bottle Hunt - 2016 Edition

CD mosaic is actually cheaper this year in 4 packs. Last year was much better IMHO. This year is all malt and not as aromatic as last year. Born yesterday is off the charts though.

 

Are you guys seeing Born Yesterday around town still? I struck out over the weekend. - Thanks in advance if you have.

 

According to Total Wine's website, it's available at their Roseville, Chanhassen, Bloomington, and Burnsville stores ($13 a sixer). And I heard from multiple sources it should still be trickling into stores this week. I'm incredibly tempted to go get a third 6 pack myself...crazy to think a beer this good is so (relatively) easy to get. Good luck!

 

I think Booze Mart just put out almost all of their cellared beer. I got a cold at the worst possible time.

 

I guess Oliphant's lawyers were able to prove the illegality of allowing in-state breweries producing under the volume limit to self-distribute, but not out-of-state breweries. I hope we see more breweries follow their lead. I bet TG is kicking themselves.

 

A good bit of anyway. Just picked some KBS, RYe Abyss, Cassian Sunset. Looked to have a fair amount of most of it. More than a case of both Rye and Congac Abyss, a dozen or so KBS, about a case of Cassian and lots of Black Butte aniversety vintages, Apricot Vista, and a variety of other stuff.

Has anyone seen the Lakefront Brandy BA Pumpkin ale? Also was 9/20 the last Axe Man can run for the year?

 

F44 has Lakefront BA Pumpkin and currently Surly is brewing Todd year round.

 

Princeton's had it Sat.

They also had Founders Harvest Ale for anyone looking. It's very good, but again, not as good as Born Yesterday.

An employee at TW Roseville told me they are expecting it next week. We'll see. Last year, they had an end-cap full of it.

 

A full rack of 10/10 P-Sue is at Liquor Barrel New Brighton. I saw 2 sixers of Bell's Expedition Stout and plenty of CD Mosaic. The latter was $17 for a 4 pack, so I passed that up for the $10 P-Sue. Is CD Mosaic really worth that much more $$$?

 

Opinion is divided on that. I bought a four pack, thought it was really good (though not as good as last year) and probably won't buy another one. I don't regret the purchase, though it seems as though people around here did...ymmv.
