I agree 100% and although we have plenty of good beer to drink around here, this new ticketing system has got me to keep my calendar open for Nov 12th.

I'm in the camp that every craft beer lover should try and seek out Heady Topper at least once. It's an iconic beer that is truly very, very good (contrary to others, I don't think it's fallen off as of late)

As for Dinner, this makes it a little easier to obtain, but to me, it's not a good enough beer to justify the hype it gets. It's good but not ticketed release good. I think these events are just their way of perpetuating the excitement around it.

I'm still surprised when I see stores placing limits on Lunch, but perhaps that's just the stage of craft beer enjoyment that I'm in. When I first started drinking them I always picked a bottle up when I could, now my tastes have evolved. Maybe it's still a sought after gateway beer for some?

As semi-regularly available shelf beers go, it's near the top of the list within its distro; I liken it to Be Hoppy, Santilli and The 87. That said, I prefer Another One and a tiny beautiful something from MBC.

When you're getting it every couple weeks at Whole Foods or Wegman's, it's kind of hard to beat Lunch.

I'm just glad they were able to find a way to make this beer even more expensive than before.

Honestly the last couple times I've had Lunch, it's been entirely mundane. Wouldn't buy it in a six pack at a normal price much less the ridiculous format it's in now.

Trillium has proved that you can sell a DIPA at $22 four pack; I bet Dinner would sell well at that price/format too.

I'm sure it would. Right now it sells at $32/4 decently well...

Just got a ticket and though it went smoothly enough. A lot of butt hurt on Twitter and FB though. Looks like those that got tickets had logged into EventBrite before buying and also had luck on their side. Hard not to post in the fray and remind people that it's just beer, this is supposed to be fun, and I'd say chances are high we'll see Dinner again very shortly.

Didn't get through initially but kept at it for 15 minutes after. Tickets must have been kicked back because they became available again. Finally got one at 10:15. Excited for the release..MUCH easier than waiting in line. Looking forward to it.....CHEERS!

Logged in at 10 AM, first sessions sold out in seconds, faster than I could click through. Luckily the last session I had luck! Very happy they went with this format, especially coming from Burlington, VT it's nice to have the guarantee of a ticket. Looking forward to finally getting to try this unicorn, and will be sure to have a trunk full of Vermont beer for trade as well!

I didn't try for tickets, but curious what the options were. Did you get to choose a pickup time? Were they all super early morning? Or were the times more reasonable? I'd consider doing this next time if you didn't need to arrive at 7am.

Once Dinner became a thing where you had to line up overnight, they lost me. I recall going for one of the first few releases when it was a 3 case limit and we showed up after the noon opening and had no wait. I'd go back in the future though if it wasn't such an oddly timed release.

Long time first time here - Having been to several releases previously, most of which we arrived around 5:00 to be in the first 150 or so ppl, I always enjoyed the atmosphere. The refresh and pray process this morning was far more stressful than any of the early morning releases. By 10:00:30 the first two blocks were sold out.

However, I do understand the pressure from Freeport to alleviate some of the insane traffic and crowds, and this is probably the best way.

It does appear you can change the name on the ticket through Eventbrite after purchase, negating the whole 'no transferring ticket' thing. So if you have enough people to buy tickets at 10:00, you don't even have to make your mules wait in line. Slippery slope.

Tickets sold in three "Blocks". You could choose from the three blocks when buying the tickets.

    Pickup times:
    Block A - 6:30 - 7:00
    Block B - 7:30 - 8:00
    Block C - 8:30 - 9:00

    Still pretty early.....

You didn't have the option of which block to choose. Block A sold first, when that was sold out, the system moved to selling Block B, etc...

I got Block A and didn't feel like chancing it any longer to try for a later time. Should be fine time to head over to Bissell Bros afterwards for the Swish release.

Do people have actual tickets to this in their Eventbrite accounts? All I'm seeing in the online version is an order confirmation. I logged into the mobile version and it tells me that mobile ticketing is disabled for this event.

No actual ticket that I can see. I plan on just printing out my order from the EventBrite site with block and contact information.

This was dumb. Local/regular at MBC and all because I was in a meeting I missed the window to buy a ticket......

MBC is starting to "Do What's Wrong"
