Stopped by the brewery on Saturday and One is absolutely amazing. I found even mo to be a little sweet (not as sweet as many finbacks), but still picked up a half growler. The signs say no "refills" of One or Rebellion but it means no fills at all.

Rebellion was also a really solid RIS, very roasty.

Race day just tapped at Bellport and will definitely be getting a growler of that this week.

Opened a can of Even Mo Mofo last night and it must have been oxidized. Dark brown color. All malt. No hops. Had to pour it down the drain. I was really sad.

    End of story.

    Thank you!

    I would agree with that.
    Yes, I noticed that too.

Finally had some Sand City. A couple cans of One and Even Mo Mofo. Both very solid beers. Good stuff.

Had the chance to try one of each can from this release, and not sure what to say other than wow. Even Mo is ridiculous. I love mosaic, and this is mosaic candy. Beautiful light orange hue, and wonderful aroma. Medium body which just urges you to put it down quickly.

ONE on the other hand is awful I have to say. It looks like dirty dish water and smells like a dirty bong. Oh actually not really, it is as nuts as everyone has noted. Comparison to a DDH Fort Point brew is 100% accurate. Best NYC area beer I have had since OH 2nd Anniversary.

I thought initially I liked One better, but Even Mo Mofo has to be the smoothest beer I have ever had. Especially since Mosaic beers can be so pungent. This one is smooth as silk. Time to reverse myself, Even Mo Mofo so well made > One.

But my personal preference, One is excellent too.

Not sure if anyone else had this experience, but opened an even mo the other day and the color was totally different, looked like an amber ale. a brewer buddy of mine said that the can was likely not purged w CO2 properly and it was oxidized. taste was off too

Sounds about right. I've had some homebrews go bad from oxidation.

Anyone tried Race Day IPA? Was going to Bellport Beer to get a growler but wondered if anyone had it before?

Another solid APA from sand city. Reminded me of their beer called promises and day drifter.

I preferred their new batch of washed up over race day.

Definitely just cracked open a bad can of Even Mo Mofo. Sucks, because I just traded away some cans with two people on BA. Hope they didn't get bad ones.

Finally had a Sand City beer I did not like. Red Sand. I love a good red ale but this one just did not do it for me. Real lack of hop bite to counteract the malt.

I hope they can Close Talker next!

Couldn't agree more, had it back in January at the tasting room and didn't even finish the glass. Didn't rate it either since I thought it was an off day for me after a few IPAs.

I picked up a half growler there also, and it's pretty solid. One and Even mo definitely better but a very solid beer. I think it was under 6 bucks for a 32, can't go wrong with that

I only popped one of them so far, but there were most definitely no issues with it.

Yeah, their growler prices are insane. Especially compared to the growlers I get in NYC.

@Comparison_Ford , had a can last night as well. Mosaic candy, no issues at all aside from the glass emptying too quickly...

The Northport train station has VERY limited service (pretty much my only gripe about living over here) and usually involves transfers. Coming from the Bronx would require numerous transfers. I myself usually drive to Hicksville when I take the train to the city. You'd be very limited in when you can get here and you'd have to take an Uber or Taxi from the train station to get to Sand City, unless you don't mind walking over 2 miles through hilly suburbs. If you do for some reason decide to take a train anyway, walk down the block from the train station to The Lark afterwards. They usually have a couple good beers on tap and some decent food. In terms of Northport itself, all there is to do really is eat, drink, and go to the water. Can be a nice day for sure, but less so if it stays as cold as it is now.
