Xocoveza has hit the Madison market - saw at least one location tweet about it yesterday.

Quick question on the subject of bottle hunting: What does Darkness distro usually look like in SE WI - Milwaukee area in particular? Does any make it this far and if so does it drop the Monday after Darkness Day as it does in the twin cities? I'm guessing it will for sure be difficult to get, but is it 1 case per store difficult or a few bottles per store difficult? Just trying to guage whether it's going to be worth the effort to even try or if this will be another Black Note situation.

From what I remember of this year's, it dropped at a few places the week after Darkness Day (I think). People chased the trucks around town and snatched it all up immediately. A local Sendiks told me that people waited around for the truck to arrive as soon as the store opened. So yeah, same deal as Bourbon County, but on a more limited scale. Some stores had lotteries though, which was the best chance at it.

Well, that's a bit discouraging, but I'll give it a shot if I can get a bead on what day it will drop. Really want to try that one, but won't keep my hopes up. Thanks for the tip!

Darkness (regular) will be on tap at various places occasionally. Rays has had it on tap a few times as well as the typical places in MKE/Bay View. That's the route I've been going this year. Much easier than driving around town. Follow a bunch of places on Twitter and it's easy to get anything that gets into a keg.

I got a case of it last year. Hit me up if you can't track one down. I also have a bottle of last years that I'd be willing to part with.

How has no one reported King Sue at Discount and Three Cellars yet?

Both gone already. GF stopped at 3 Cellars around 6:30 for me on her way home from work and only got the last Pompeii. :slight_frown:

Rays had 48 bottles of Darkness and Sue last Saturday.. both are obviously gone. I think they still have some Backwoods Bastard left. Went to Whole Foods on North and they didn't have anything special. Black Husky still has Sparkly Eyes if you are looking for something unique/different. This is a good thread, keep it going!

Grab some of the Citra Pale if you go in for Sparkly Eyes, it's absurdly good.

I caught wind of Ray's on Twitter the night before they released the Darkness and King Sue. I arrived at the store less than 10 minutes after open (car clock said 8:37) and both were already gone. Third time this week I missed either Darkness or King Sue by a few minutes! Argh!

It seems I really gotta step up my game with Black Friday just around the corner...

You were real close, there were people who showed up around 8:15 who still got bottles. Any Black Friday rumors around Milwaukee? I'll probably hit Lake Front, last year chased BCBS with some luck.

Any ideas on a good bottle shop near/around Burlington, WI. I'm going up for a Y camping trip with the daughter and I'd love to bring some good stuff back home with me. Likely heading up 94 and over on 11, but I can certainly adjust. And I know it's a long-shot, but I'd love to find some Cranbic for Thanksgiving. Any chance of an out of the way store/gas station that may have some sitting around?

    Thanks!

Woodman Oak Creek still had Cran Bic last time I was there so definitely check the Kenosha Woodman on your way.

And for a bonus question, what's a recommendation on someplace to grab some brats for the camp? I was going to grab some from a local deli here, but it's kinda that whole "bringing sand to the beach" thing.

Tenuta's in Kenosha on 52nd. They also carry Toppling Goliath (Woodman's does not), so double bonus.

Timer's in Racine has TG Naughty 90 oaked IPA (from June), Fresh Sol Hunter, and Intergalactic Warrior. They may also have some other TG bomber in the back too...the name escapes me at the moment...but it's definitely not out on the floor...and won't last long.
