Treat bottle is faring a lot better. Based on size and waxing I'd say this is a Dark Horse bottle. @Eziel said these were all new ticks and a lot of wants, so I'll go with Bourbrum Pt5. Yup, this didn't taste distinctly like bourbon so I figured as much. Tasty beer and I like this record so far. I was worried it might be too Ska-like since @Eziel said they opened for a ska band and i kind of hate ska, but it's not. Not sure what to compare it to, but I dig the vibe. Thanks Eric!
Day 1 from @Steban. Could tell it was a fruited sour right away, but couldn't figure out the fruit. Guessed cherry after trying the candy. J. Wakefield - Haboob Hits Miami. First thing I have tried from them. Excellent way to start out the 6 days. Thanks Steban
Pours a beautiful pale color with a crisp nose of tart fruit. First taste reminds me exactly of a Grimm beer my buddy brought over a few days ago. Wonderful passionfruit/guava tastes. I guess Perfect Prescence? Or whatever that is @SRBush1974
This is going to be Yuge Messed the name up but this really is a tasty brew. Great start to the madness. Cheers everyone!
D1 from @CBrodbeck. Extras suggested a Funkky Buddha nirvana, and it was to be: Beer and candy are both blueberry. Excellent pairing. Thank you!
Day 1 from @pnelting: Orange Zots with Whiskey Mango Petite Golden Sour! Fantastic stuff. Thanks, Patrick!
Enjoying my first beer from day 1, thought maybe a brown sour at first but couldn't put my finger on it, smell reminds me of ginger and spices. No clue what this is, and the reveal: Lord of the gourd, interesting, not a style I drink often, but enjoying it.
Clearly a BA beer on the nose. Paired with a kinder bar, which compliments it quite well. Very smooth barrel flavor with bitterness at the end. The reveal: great beer. The coffee was subtle and contributed to the bitter finish. Thanks @BartS! Hard to believe the abv is as high as it is on this one.
Definitely an IPA, and the PEZ was an added touch! The reveal: A very enjoyable double IPA by Singlecut! Thanks @corm44
@maljay26 is off to a great start on this 6 days, second day 1 beer looks to be from prairie. Tasting a lot of coffee, vanilla and chocolate, bit of barrel. Really tasty, think it's barrel aged bomb! And the reveal: And it is! Thanks @maljay26, really enjoying this one.
Finally drinking my day one epic GROWLER from @Greeny87 My husband is not home yet...how long should I reserve his share? First, here is the full Haul: Day One: I tasted dark chocolate, barrel, and bourbon flavors all balanced together. Then I ate a Hershey + almonds while this warmed up. The identity of the beer was made clearer by the extras: The reveal????? Yum, need more!!! Woah!!! First Tired Hands for me! Cannot wait to try the extras but will have to if I keep sipping on this growler! Thanks @Greeny87 Day one has been awesome!
Day 1 Complete! Opened the sealed bag to find an assortment of sour taffy for the candy, which I Immediately assumed it was going to be a sour beer. Leaving the bottle still wrapped in it's cocoon, I popped the top off and proceeded to pour a thicker, dark beer that had some hints of chocolate aroma. Blindly tasting, it was obvious this was not a sour, rather a stout. I didn't pick up on any barrel flavor, and being so hearty, this had to be an imperial stout. Tried it by itself, tried it with all the flavors of taffy, even let the beer warm up closer to room temp, Just couldn't really pull out any other flavors they may have been hidden in this brew. Naturally gave up and unwrapped the beer: Great Divide Oatmeal Yeti! I passed this beer up while I was on vacation in CO a few months ago, so I am stoked to be enjoying it after all. A great start to the 6 days, courtesy of @JoeyIce3.
A little late to post day 1 (passed out early) much thanks to @KyleDavis for dragging me into participation on this one!! Definitely golden sour, tasted almost peachlike, my guess was peachy bones....... way off Awesome sour, we just started gettin FW here in Aug but not little/big bottles yet?? Thanks Kyle
Moved onto day 2 last night. I had a hunch what this might be with the candy. Upon 1st sip, I got a great peanut taste with a slight coffee. Reveal shows I was onto it. So glad to finally try this @Elneenee ! Thank you! Shared the candy with my family and that was gone quickly. Perfect pairing.
