My friend and I were having this conversation about breweries in Portland and that there's so many it's sometimes hard to just keep up with what a lot of them are doing. We got sidetracked and it turned into a conversation about the breweries we just... forget about. Nothing malicious or anything, just literally have no strong feelings one way or another that you just forget about it.

So I ask you BA'ers, which is your most forgettable brewery in Portland? Seattle too I suppose!

For me it's Columbia River Brewing and Coalition.

I used to split going to Migration and Coalition when going to see movies at Laurelhurst theater, but over time Migration has won that battle and now I tend to hit up Migration or elsewhere. Now I constantly think "Ohhh yeah, Coalition is right there" every time I bike by it on Ankeny.

And Columbia River Brewing I drank semi-frequently when the first came out, went to the pub a few times. And I just don't have any feelings towards it whatsoever. It's just... there every time I have to dig deep into my beer knowledge.

Columbia River, Base Camp, Coalition, Migration came to mind for me too. I give the newbies a pass.

+1 for Base Camp. Their beer isn't really made for people like us. It's moreso for people who don't really like beer or are new to craft beer and shop purely off of what labels/bottle designs pop out to them. They sell the outdoorsy beer aesthetic.

That said, their smores stout is one of the only craft beers available at a grocery store in a tiny town in the corner of North-Eastern WA where I go camping every summer, so I'm obligated to buy it every once in a while.

I always have a soft spot for the Natians and Base Camps of this world.
But i agree with Columbia River.
Used to see some of their stuff down here in Salem but no more

Hah I actually completely forgot about Base Camp when going over all the breweries I've been to down there.

Seattle area would probably have to be Hale's. I like a lot of their beer and their location but I only think about then when I'm on my way to Reuben's.

Mt. Tabor. They started in Portland, then moved to Vantucky - where they were pretty much ignored - then moved back across the river.

Base Camp or Burnside I would say are the 2 most forgettable in PDX. I've tried both locations several times but their beer just doesnt stand out to me.

I actually like Tug Boat... But to be honest, I only think about it when I'm across the street.

That's why Tugboat can't be the most forgettable Portland brewery.

It would have a legitimate shot if it weren't right across the street from Bailey's.

Unlike a few entries on here, I can at least name one of their beers off the top of my head: Chernobyl Stout.

FTFY. Also, do they even exist anymore? I haven't seen any of their beers (bottles or draft), their beer truck, or heard anything about them in a couple years. Not that I've been looking.

I'm in the same boat with many of you in forgetting Coalition, Base Camp, and Portland Brewing. Pints is another one that I never think about going to, probably because I usually try to avoid downtown, and if I do go, I hit Bailey's.

Just saw Captured by Porches bottles at World Foods yesterday, so they must still be active.

Do they still use the swingtop 750s? I bought a couple of those maybe 4 years ago (want to say their porter and IPA), and both were infected. That was the last time I drank CbP beers.
