I just noticed the last thread was closed down. I'm not sure why?

Does anyone have more info about the release for this weekend?

What would you like to know? I've gone to several of their Side Note releases. The last one I arrived around 9:00 am and was 25th in line. This allowed me to purchase 2 bottles. I believe the first 100 people or so had an allotment of 2 bottles, then it was 1 per person after that. Several people going back in line to grab more. They usually have the Side Note beer on tap or something else unique.

Be prepared to arrive early. Feel free to bottle share in line, but clean up after yourself. At the last Juicy release people were leaving their bottles everywhere.

Nothing has been official yet, which is weird because the last one they gave a few weeks notice.

It said they dont mind people recirculating the line.

So probably like Juicy it will go super fast!!

Yeah, odd comment. I took it as a selling point to the release.

He reads this thread and has responded specifically to that question that they were thinking about what to do. I take it as they're just being up front so you know, whereas before that wasn't clear. Apparently they decided double dipping was cool, can't blame them as it makes sure the beer sells out. I wish they'd have picked something that would allow more people to have it - they're a restaurant and probably don't want to have resources earmarked for to go bottles for all that long.

It was more of a "get there early to get some" kinda warning.

Juicy was crazy and many people were mad about 1200ish cans only lasting 30 mins.

I feel it will go almost as fast especially because its cash only again.

Juicy actually lasted till about 12:30 IIRC. and the only reason it didn't last all day/the next day is b/c people were going back for cases of the stuff.

However, if you rolled up there around noon (1hr after the release), you were able to walk in with no line, throw the cash down, and walk away for your 2x 4pks in a matter of minutes.

Granted, I wish there was a better way to curb the octuple+ dipping, but even at that, if you showed up at 11 (official release time), you were definitely able to get as much as you wanted.

Yeah, I'm aware. Which is why I thought the comment was odd. I read his comment in this thread as they'd like to curb double dipping if they could. The Instagram comment of 2 bottles with the possible option to get back in line for additional bottles reads like an incentive, which is why I thought it was an odd comment since they set a limit. None of it bothers me, I'd want to move as many bottles as quickly as possible as well, especially like you mentioned, being a restaurant and all. And yeah, probably best to make it known so folks don't get upset seeing people sitting around with a half dozen bottles.

yeh I hear you - wish they did a true limit. I'd imagine the main reason for the in "soft" limit is to make sure nobody in the line gets shut out.

Compared to the last side note release - they limited it to 1 later in the line. It sounds like they brewed more which is a good thing - waiting is a little easier to stomach if you're getting 2 bottles. Combined with cash only and more people taking money (which people said they did for juicy) - should be much better than than the last side note.

You make a good point on the tone - I bet a higher percentage of people will "double dip" since it was announced that you can.

It was actually 12:10-12:15 that it ran out. I know because I got there at 12:15 and it was gone within the past couple minutes. That may seem picky to point out 12:15 vs. 12:30, but clearly 15 minutes mattered significantly that day!

I had thought about checking out this weekend's release, but I'll be out of town.

This is the issue I have with the release limit. Why even mention people can get back in line? Staying silent would at least prevent some from getting back in line and allow the beer to -hopefully- last longer for more people
