Yes sir, hit up any total wine and you'll be sure to find it for a great price 11.99. Similar in regard to CW BA beer in terms of being undervalued imo. Pick up a backwoods bastard while your there if you like bourbon BA scotch ales, this years is tasting very good, better than the past two years.

To add what @BrewingMN said, TW Roseville had multiple cases of Backwoods Bastard ($13 a 4-pack). It's on display near the customer service counter. They also had some cases of it above their shelves in overstock.

Thanks, @NickMpls for reminding me about Backwoods Bastard. For $13, it's a wonderful beer.

Also in stock at TW Roseville was $15 4-pack 10/26/16 Abrasive in the cooler. Surly still doesn't label the ABV on it, but I got a 4-pack to try the 2016 version.

Have heard the abrasive has a little more alcohol burn than previous batches.....any others getting that out of the ones they may have picked up?

Agreed that it is boozier than last years (first Abrasive I have ever been able to try), but personally feel it lends itself well to a double IPA. I loved last years and like this one even more.

Had my first 2016 Abrasive canning date 10/26 and I will say it hit a little harder this year so I think the ABV is upped this year but still scary way too smooth to tell could pound them! Seems less fruity smelling and less sweet which is also signs they upped the ABV. Don't know if you can totally believe Utapped but it say 10.5% I believe compared to previous years 9%.

Surly states Abrasive being 9.2% on their site. I found it to be quite delicious and incredibly drinkable for a double.

Modist is releasing their first "big bottle beer" at 6PM on 11/5/16. I feel like i need a translator. I've never read such a bunch of gobbledegook in my life:

"We’ll be releasing 2 beers, including an “Atomic Ale” and our first big bottle release of a beer we’ve named Lord Humungus.

Lord Humungus is a beer born from the blood, fire, and gasoline of the Wasteland. It’s and imperial red ale meets a barley wine meets an imperial Stout. It’s a potent malt, hop, and roast driven rye ale with notes of spicy sweet rye malt, rich toffee, dark chocolate, coffee, burnt sugar smoke with resinous hop character and smooth bitterness. Gushingly soft mouth feel and a smoldering after burn. (76 IBU // 33 SRM // 10.5 ABV)

What the hell? Anyways, if anyone wants to gamble on a beer with a nonsensical description & no style tag from a new brewery, there you go.

I'm more confused about a "glass-free brewery" doing a bottle release.

There whole bit starting I thought was doing things differently. Stretching styles and what not so seems right up their ally. No clue if the beer will be any good but the label is awesome so for me I'll try to grab one.

I'm getting an aneurysm trying to figure out this descriptor. Did they burn sugar to get the smoke which they then burned again? I need a beer.

I'm going to guess this is much like a homebrew. They put the description of each grain and hops they used into this description. On Northern Brewers website, each item has a description. They did this for the grain and hops, then adjusted the water chemistry to get it "soft".

Add all of those together and you get this beer??
