CO Barrel Aged Stouts

Also aged more than 12 months - Ctayt and Liquid Brain. It makes sense, a lot of beers can take a long time to "mature". Just how I prefer expedition stout with 1 year on it for example.

 

How long do folks thing the BA ten fiddy will last this weekend at Tasty Weasel. Would love to get my hands on some but can't make it until Sunday. I figure if there is no limit it should last a few days?

 

It's seeing national distro so I can't see any reason that you wouldn't be able to get it one way or another here in Colorado.

But to answer your question, yes, I think it will still be there Sunday.

 

Although if it's the same situation as last year, the earlier you get it, the cheaper the price will be...

 

I thought it was the opposite? Prices went down the second day and thereafter. Did not attend myself so not speaking from first hand knowledge, only what I was told.

 

They were 10.50 day 1. 11.50 day 2. Then stayed at 12.50.

I'm more curious about how long the Java fidy will last on Saturday. No limits on that either, but it isn't seeing distro and they say it's only available on Saturday. Trying to figure out how early I need to get there.

 

Yup the prices went up twice.

 

I think BA TenFidy ended up lasting several weeks and then it hit local distro. So I'm guessing that they will have lots of Java Fidy.

 

It was the imperial version; I believe it was 9% ABV. It sort of reminded me of Dry Dock's BB Double Hazelnut Brown, without the hazelnut, of course.

 

I see parallels between the Java BATF and Persica releases. One day only!

 

And then 3 months later they will have it back in the tap room selling...

 

I'm almost ashamed to admit it, but I only barely like BA stouts now. Even the elite ones. At one time I was downing Liquid Brain a few times a week. I'm still excited to have more (it's been 2 years), but probably won't get more than a few. Ya'll enjoy them while you can. Hopefully they won't fall out of favor with you like they did me.

 

Same. I'm somewhat addicted to purchasing / hoarding 'em, but I find myself more and more tending towards the non-BA versions when I actually want to drink one. It's just getting too sweet for my tastes. C'est la vie...

 

I love a good BA Stout....but I also don't buy more than 1 bottle of a beer at any time (i.e. specialty beer). Moderation seems to have been my friend.

 

I didn't reduce the stouts because of the taste. More like my waist line fell out of favor.

 

Is Liquid Brain due out soon?

 

I feel your pain. A person gets trapped in the habit of heading to the bottle shop, and even when there isn't something outstanding coming in there are all the beers sitting there that a person has been meaning to try.

 

Anyone in line at OB yet?
