I scored a BA Ten Fidy at Eden Prairie 2 (by Cub) last night . They got a case and only had 3 left though. I don't know if the other EP stores got any.

Harpoon is here. That's literally the best beer news for the year, at least in my book.

What's out there besides the IPA and winter warmer?

Genuine question: what are you excited for? Always like finding a staple to pick up off the shelf.

Honest question. Do the EP munis get different distro? The one by Cub seems to have the best selection. The one by Kolawskis seem to have shit. And the one by L&Bs is hit or miss.

I work in EP and I am in one of those shops at least twice a week and still haven't figured out which one gets what and when.

For instance there's still Redankulous sitting on their shelves. Do they get/have Backwoods? Do all of them? When will the ones that get it have it? Or is it already gone?

    Lotta questions there.

I think each store has its specialty. I remember hearing, either in the stores themselves or reading somewhere on here ages ago, that the Cub one is the select beer store while one of the other two is the go-to wine one in town. The Lund's & Byerly's one is the closest and most convenient to me but every time I've asked about a beer when I'm in there it's pretty clear they don't have a clue what I'm talking about. The only advantage is that any store can check inventory of what the other two have on hand.

that's the beauty of it. there's nothing earth-shattering, just a good, old-school brewery from new england.

it's like when minnesota got brooklyn a few years back.

It doesn't release at Brewery until the 18th....so I would bet you may not see until early December at the earliest.....

It was very, well, meh? I got the imperial red and a little of the stout, but it lacked the sweetness I expected. I guess, kind of a dry hoppy red ale with a dark roasted malt character? I personally did not get the toffee flavors at all. With that being said, I only had one of the tasters they were pouring on Fri night.

I wouldn't call it bad, but it wasn't something I wanted bottles of. I also would not recommend comparing this to Before the Dawn, you'll be highly disappointed. I do enjoy their juicy hoppy 100% wheat (or whatever it is).

I'd say I pretty much agree. It did get better as it warmed up and got a little more complex, but it wasn't anything amazing and at $18 a bottle, was too expensive. Was worth a bottle for the label though.

I actually asked a worker at the Cub location this exact thing. She told me that they get better beer because they're the busiest location, move more beer , and have the shelf space .

The beer guy at the EP Cub has some idea what he's doing also. I chatted with him a bit when I worked near there, if you're a regular and into beer I'd make the effort to say hi. They'll hold stuff for regulars and give you a heads up when stuff is coming in.

Saw some at the Whole Foods in North Loop in Minneapolis last Thursday, sitting on the shelf. Probably still there, there was maybe 6 single bottles?

I'll agree that it wasn't mind blowing or amazing, but I did find it tasty and interesting. Certainly no Before the Dawn, but in the end, I don't think they were aiming for that. Also agree on the awesomeness of the label.

The Post Apocalyptic/Pre-Election party was cool too. Tim the Tool-Man Taylor was elected New Overlord, sad Comacho didn't win.

If Whole Foods doesn't have it I know I saw some at North Loop Liquors just up the road.
