If you haven't seen this yet or don't do FB, it's worth a read. Good job OB. I wish Crooked Stave had the nuts to own up like this. A mea culpa is all it takes to win back customers quickly and with little fuss.

Have the regular BA Ten Fidy cans started showing up in shops yet? I am going to be in Colorado this weekend and hoping to score a couple stovepipes.

Just read this myself. Sounds sincere, I guess there's no reason to not believe it.
There's obviously a major disconnect between their social media/marketing people and the tap room associates.

Yep. Allow me to remain sceptical until I see this resolved, but overall, I'm encouraged by their admission of dropping the ball and hopeful that future releases will see great improvement.

I like that OB released, what seems to be a sincere apology but the last sentence in that 1st paragraph?? Cmon now!! Are they that blind/naïve that they couldn't anticipate how that was goin to go when they announced there would be no limits? They didn't know people were going to go ape shit for Java after what happened at the crowler release last time? Just fucking dumb!

Inferiority complex... afraid to get stuck with beer.

I am cool with their response, I respect that they acknowledged mishandling of things. That said, I agree with @JakeT469 that I think they were a little disingenuous in their surprise over how popular this event would be. This is not their first rodeo, this is not the first shit show of a release, I imagine they simply didn't expect people to react so strongly.

Maybe a little off topic but I think beer trading is the worst thing to happen to this scene, even moreso than the infiltration of Macro Breweries. I just don't see how anyone who goes to an event/store/brewery/etc should miss out on a beer to someone who doesn't.

It is so dumb. I know I mentioned the hassle involved (my perception), but I really feel like so much of it is just a lot of dick-wagging coupled with hoarding. Also- from the people I know, it doesn't seem like they ever drink the beers
    :grimacing::grimacing::grimacing:

Isn't drinking beer what this is all about?!?

We will be releasing Saint Nicole on Black Friday, along with our other black beers. We have about 12 cases of 2015 Saint Nicole that we have been aging for a year and will be rereleasing. The base beer and 2-4 variants will be available on draft. I should have more definitive information on the variants soon. Likely variants include:
    • Maple bourbon
    • Nutella (hazelnut)
    • Mounds (coconut + chocolate)
    • Vanilla bean
The other black beers we are releasing are not barrel aged stouts, so I'll leave those out of this thread. Not sure where to post those...

I called the taproom and they told me they sold out of stovepipes today, but it is still on tap for crowlers.

What made you guys want to name a series of barrel aged imperial stouts after the already famous Fremont brewing's versions, the same exact style of beer... ?

Unfortunately the crowlers are a really bad deal for that beer. Not only is it nearly too much beer for one person to consume, it costs more than getting the cans. Its bad on bad. Thanks though!

Don't know if your heart was set on Longmont, but there were stovepipes in Boulder stores as of yesterday. For what it's worth.

Don't care if they copied the name of Fremont's BBA stout... more wondering the deets on times for Odd13's release so maybe I can swang both on my way back to the fort :grinning:
