Agreed. I thought Vanilla version was just overly sweet. Still a solid beer but with Abraxas being sweet enough, it didn't need to be made any sweeter (and I like Vanilla stouts).

 

I will also be voting a straight Binny's ticket.

I read the "grab your bottle" line very literally and thought 1

 

I'd have to assume one - that's what it was last year. I'm not expecting to have to be there super early or anything to get a bottle, but I could be wrong. They had a good amount of it last year and I have to think they'll get just as much this year, if not more.

I'm interested to know when Beer Temple will he theirs, as they had a good release of it last year as well.

I got the second to last one at Binny's LP last year and it was limit one. IIRC, it was the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and I just happened to be in the area because GI Clybourn had something special on tap. I wonder what the deal is with things being earlier this year?

 

You're right on the date last year. It's only 2 weeks earlier than last year, and I have no idea how that compared to prior years. I think some people get too tied up thinking that breweries will do stuff at the exact same time every year. Plus, this is also dependent upon distributors as well. Even though things like Black Friday for BCBS, Dark Lord Day are traditionally done at the same time each year (although DLD is even changing next year), not all breweries feel locked into a certain specific date/week.

 

So is Abraxas only released at the Binnys in LP? Or other Binnys as well?

 

Nick, the Perennial rep said on twitter that other Binny's, Whole Foods, and bottle shops would be receiving as well.

Is anyone in line at LP Binny's yet? I sure as s**t hope not, but just thought I'd ask.

 

I've been camped out since about 1AM, the line is several thousand people deep now. I'm about 50th in line.

 

The reason that's funny is because we know some of it could (unfortunately) be true.

 

I am first in line. They said BA Abraxas to the first person only.

 

It's a new trend breweries are starting, they only ship one bottle of the epic rares to each store since they only want TRUE advocates to drink their liquid gold.

The remaining bottles are sold off at 5x the cost once they become vintages to maximize profit and to support the trickle down economy.

 

That is correct. I have been standing in line by myself for 72 hours.

 

Does Abraxas ever hit Wisconsin distro, or is that too far west?
