Tired Hands (November 2016)

Line is almost to the end of the Cricket Lot...but umbrella line inflation...you know.

 

Woah, that's a long line for a vague new beer and AC + rain/post-election daze.

 

I just cracked open a Space Needle. Super hazy, pretty lush and big hops. "Fatty" makes sense because it seems to have more hop resins, if that makes sense. It's actually pretty freakin good, different from most of the others, definitely bigger hops.

 

Easy night. They still had Trendler behind the bar so I grabbed a 4pack. The "fatty"ness in space needle comes from coconut oil. Doesn't change the taste, just really smooth.

 

Cool, thanks for the reports . I'm going to head up and hope there's still some at the bar.

 

at around 6 the line was only a handful of people and they had pallets of each left.

 

The rain definitely kept the crowds away. I'd be surprised if AC (if not both) didn't last into tomorrow given how much is left over.

I was in line and an employee told me they were sold out... Multiple of us in the line left so I sure hope she wasn't wrong.

You should give them a call and check.

 

I think I enjoyed space needle more than any other beer they have canned to date. Delicious.

 

Yeah it's great. Had that and the new Alien Church last night and Space Needle was way better.

 

these 2 cans remind me why I love Tired Hands.

This Alien Church batch is outstanding. Top2 of the past 5 batches, in my opinion
Space Needle is freakin fantastic. Everything I look for in a (tired hands) beer.
Last new can I enjoyed this much was Distopian

I think it would be important to clarify that the 'newness' of Alien Church seems to be restricted to the can design. The recipe has not changed based on how TH introduced this batch. The way your statement was worded could lead to believe you are saying this is a new version of Alien Church.

Anyone else have info to add on this?

 

I meant "new" as in this most recent release, not one of the previous releases. No clue if the recipe has changed.

 

Ah, ok. I hadn't noticed any change in the taste so was wondering. Misinterpreted on my part...

 

Spoke to employees at Tired Hands, Alien Church recipe is unchanged.

 

TH is inconsistent though. It's normal for batches to be better or worse than others.

For instance, the latest batch of Pineal is tasting quite buttery to me, is anyone else tasting the same thing? Might be my wakeup call to what diacetyl is.

 

Had a pint of it while waiting to get on line and thought it tasted amazing. No off flavors to me.

I'm gonna try a Space Needle today and by all reports it's going to be right up my alley.
