    Just opened a juice.

After trying RAM's juicy and Hop Butcher galaxy bowl and feeling. Underwhelmed compared to Obligatory, I was "worried" that maybe it was just my palate that wasn't up to enjoying the DIPA as much.

Nope. This is awesome. It has the bitter hope bite the others are missing.

I still prefer Obligatory, and am super pumped to try flightless, but this is far and away the best representation of the style in the Midwest.

"FIB" heading in tomorrow. (I am a native of Michigan City, does that buy me any love? Also, we always said "FIP"?)

Growlers of Juice is Loose available?

Nope. Cromulent was the only PA/IPA on tonight, and they only do growlers of those styles.

    Flightless is legit also.

Juice is great, but a tad too sweet for my taste. However, between Obligatory and Flightless, I truly believe Chris makes APA's as good as Trillium. They are fantastic.

I will second what everyone is saying. JiL and Flightless were my first tastes of transient hops, and honestly they both exceeded every other version of the style I've had in chicago aside from maybe Mikerphone Get Fresh Flow. These beers are on par with the most sought after breweries in the NE.

What does JIL normally run? Can't seem to find price anywhere.

Wow, it's a good beer, but that's pretty high for a 4 pack. I had a growler of it only before, so didn't realize the 4 packs were so pricey.

For how good it is being reviewed sounds spot on. Thats similar pricing to the big boys on the east coast.

Except the "big boys" on the east coast aren't that good. I liked the style at Transient better than the stuff I've had from the east for the most part, but I still don't think I'd pay for that repeatedly since I like things like Navaja and Ninja vs. Unicorn better.

I agree with that for the most part, in regards to nvu and Navajo.

Now flightless and Obligatory? All day at $13.

I've had Obligatory, and thought it was fine. That's obviously a much more attractive price point.

Flightless I'd like to try, but I won't be making the trip up just for that. Was this the first time he brewed it? I don't recall hearing about it before.

Hoping the don't impose limits straight away on all of the subsequent releases. If so I guess I'll just need to bring the wife and kids along...
Flightless is great btw. Haven't been let down by any of their canned hops. Thank you so much for bringing these awesome beers into Michigan @TransientArtisanAles , Cheers!

Take a look at the prices of the double dry hopped DIPA's on Trillium's website, definitely in the same neighborhood, sometimes even more for Trillium.

Yeah, we discussed NE "big boys" above. That's great for them if they can sustain that pricing, I guess I just don't prefer that style/price point combo. As I said before, I enjoyed Juice is Loose and would drink it again (although I can't say the same thing for most of the Trillium & Tree House stuff), but just not at that price. I can't remember what the growler price was that I paid, but I don't recall being taken by surprise on it (although growlers are typically a better value than cans/bottles). Plus, I was getting beer for a beach weekend and sometimes I don't care as much about pricing when I'm on a little vacation.

And this all comes from the guy (me) that just bought bottles of Abraxas and Darkness for $22-23. :astonished::flushed::confused:

Does anybody know if there is any more JIL left? I want to make the drive from Naperville IL but do not want to waste my time driving if not there. Any details?

I'm sure if you get there early enough they'd have some left. It's a 3-4pk limit now on JIL and Flightless (DDH APA, think Fort Point from Trillium). Highly recommended picking up both.

They should have some. He put a 3 4-pack limit on each type because he wants it to last the weekend.
