New on the Casper beer seen.

The Wonder Bar(Wyoming State Brewing in particular) is no more. A possible reopening? Yes. The new owners transferred their brewing license to Poor Boy's, which they also own, and a new brewpub is in the works. Speaking of works, the closed Famous Dave's will be opening as Wyoming Ale Works, which will have 40 taps of Wyoming only brews.Imho, that could be a chore.

More updates to come as I get them. Prost!

Holy cow! More like a Hurculean feat. At least they're motivated I guess. Maybe 4+ beers each from a handful of the bigger breweries? Although even then...

    Well, hopefully it goes well.

I reckon that Snake River can lead the way. They always seem to come up with 1 offs.

Made a trip up to Casper today and visited the Liquor Shed as a result of the good reviews it seems to get in this thread. I was impressed with the store. It was clean, well organized, and friendly staff. They probably had the widest variety of beers I have seen in Wyoming. I could have spent a LOT of money there (for instance, they had 4 different years of Fuller's Vintage Ale and I was very tempted to spend the $45 or so it would take to buy them all). In the end I settled on two six packs -- 1 mix pack (they have a large selection of singles to choose from) and 1 sixer of Shiner Cream Ale (which I had not heard of before today). I really enjoy Cream Ales, so I am looking forward to trying it.

I've never been there, but that is definitely the impression I get. Just seeing Bill's announcements here makes me envious. I never make it to Casper when I'm back home, though.

I can say this. I am in Montreal, a big cosmopolitan city, and we definitely have a worse selection of things than they get in Casper. Nuts, when you realize how small Wyoming is. That's why government monopolies are bad...

Very true! Consider Jacob at the Liquor Shed is bring in some of the best selections that can rival even east coast standard. I mean the dude had Black Barrel beers from Italy, which I know is rare even for the east coast! Not to mention the other international choices!

Killy's opened a couple weeks ago and their grand opening is this weekend. The selection was about the same as T&C, Star, or Little Goose. I went within a couple days of their opening though, so maybe their selection will expand? They have all six taps going for their crowler station now.

I was asked to actually introduce myself and help out with the selection as they need someone in that capacity or I could teach a beer server/off flavor class...
