Wow, I'm up early enough on a weekend to actually start one of these things! Cool.

It literally might take me all day to drink this, which is perfectly fine.

Perhaps my favorite morning "coffee", bottled July 2015:

Good morning BA, have a great Saturday! I ended up wide awake really early, so I did a couple hours of bike trainer and watched Black Mirror on Netflix. Really awesome show.

Awesome as usual this year. Glad they went with the 6 packs. Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, pineapple, citrus rind, and pine hops; with moderate caramel, toasted biscuit malt sweetness; and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Good sized pine/rind/grassy bitterness. Medium-plus bodied; balanced sticky/resins and creaminess in the mouthfeel. Increasingly resinous and drying. I love how this has a more balanced approach with the malt presence. Feels really juicy. I love Cascade and Centennial.

Fantastic as usual. Flavors of big toasted coconut, milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, vanilla, cream, toffee, dark bread, and light coffee. Light balancing roast bitterness against sweetness; with an awesome creamy/silky medium body; light touch of sticky/chalky roast character and dryness. I ended up grabbing the last lone 4 pack from my corner shop last weekend. Hopefully I don’t blow through all of it too quickly. I love this stuff. At least I can get Blackrocks coconut brown all year. Fairly comparable in the coconut and malt flavor department.

Been a long time since I had this one. I’ve been seeing their beers fresher recently. This is really great stuff! Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, and pine hops; with moderate caramel, spicy rye, and toasted bready malt sweetness; and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Good sized pine/rind bitterness and rye spice on the finish. Medium-full bodied; balanced sticky/resinous hops and malt creaminess in the mouthfeel; a touch slick. Increasingly drying resins on the finish. Very smooth, mildly warming ABV. This is very similar to Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye, but it doesn’t quite top it for me. Still delicious, definitely worth buying again.

Last Pirate Bomb for now. Mind blowing amazing. No real head retention at all, dense motor oil pour, foamy tan cap drops nearly instantly. Flavors of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, dark roasted coffee, fudge, toffee, vanilla, molasses, cinnamon, rum, toasted oak, coconut, chili pepper, and light dark fruit/char. Light-medium roast/char bitterness and rum/oak/pepper spice on the finish. Very full bodied; creamy/silky/slick mouthfeel, with some light sticky/chalky balancing roast/spice notes. Light lingering pepper heat. Warming finish, but not boozy for 14%. Dangerously smooth. This one has a bit more pepper presence than BA Bomb, but is still insanely balanced. Hope I can snag more next year. I got 3 this year, but most of my stores don’t like our Shelton distributor; so my access is limited. Need to get more regular Bomb again soon for old time’s sake. Always amazing and widely available.

The chilly early morning run and breakfast is finished, so it's time to pre game for FOBAB later. My past experience tells me I'll be a mess tomorrow, so why not? Have yourself a great day!

Well, the power went out about an hour ago, so I guess it's time to have a beer and read a book. There are worse things in life.

Going to continue my morning with a stout that several people recommended to me - "On Fleek", an imperial stout (13%) from Stillwater Artisanal:

A collab with, I believe, CASK Sweden, Hagersten; admitted I need to do more research here, but content with the tasty buzz I'm working on at the moment.Canned Sept. 2016. Cheers from St. Pete!
