    Scored some Joe and a 12 pack today... finally. My Meijer store practically hid the 12 packs on an end cap that you couldn't get to because they setup one of the free sample people right in front of it. Straight dumb luck that I even saw it. One 12 pack left at the Mason store if anyone is still looking.

    I really wish I could get up to Bellaire for BB Publican! Publican is my fav bottled Short's brew. Not going to happen with a newborn.

    I'm really glad to see Short's bottling stuff like this though.

    I was slightly underwhelmed with it at FOBAB, first beer I had there and really wanted to like it.

    Agreed...although I didn't have it first. Not bad per se, but it just didn't do much. The big caveat for me is that it's amongst a ton of great competition, so it's hard to stand out unless you really knock it out of the park.

    Bah, was going to be heading up on Friday, now plans have changed and will be on the river fishing instead. Was going to see if anyone was around to grab a brewski!

    so what's your take on Aorta on Critterless. How do they taste? Happy to see a last minute sour addition.

    I too am also happy to see a last minute sour addition, but I think I saw on twitter that Critterless was pushed back to the week of 11/21.

    Well, I've only had Critterless a couple times, and I don't really remember too much except I dug it. That being said, it's not really my personal style.

    Now, Aorta. That's a true Short's classic- and just like I feel Bellaire Brown is the quintessential Brown Ale for the state of Michigan and beyond, the same goes for Aorta in the Imperial Red category. It's simply amazing, and the high alpha hops, caramel malts, will steal your face right off your head. And that's about it.

    I really liked Batch 5000 when I had it earlier in the year, but having the bottle tonight from my Holidays pack, I get a cough syrup vibe to it. Anyone else get that flavor from it?

    I will be in ann arbor on Friday, anyone have a best guess where I could snag a variety pack? I will be staying in GP on Thursday night so anywhere between there and A2 could work I guess as I drive in fri morning.

    Not cough syrup, but it's definitely got more boozy heat than I remember. I can't imagine having more than one in an evening.

    it is very boozy. i am not a fan of that one. seems rather gimicky to me. but what do you expect from a 15%, "triple" IPA
