A few months ago I've noticed a few of their basic beers here in Dayton

They started at least a few months ago. I haven't carried any of their beers so far because our shelves have been jammed with so many other options. Might have to bring this one in though.

Obviously I missed that somehow. For what it's worth, I am a little more interested in having them than Shorts having been to Perrin and based on what I have had so far from both

Curious as to thoughts on the Nutsmasher tappings this weekend for those that went to the event in Sandusky. I personally was very disappointed in the barrel aged Nutsmasher, it kind of covered up all the great flavors that it normally has. Barrel seemed to move it back a few steps (similar to BA Xocoveza). The weasel Nutsmasher however...my god.

Anyone else surprised by Listermanns receiving Best in Show at FOBAB? Its obviously a fantastic accomplishment for them and for the cincy brewing scene, just a little surprised.

Yeah, don't think too many places are carrying their stuff. Short's I wish had never come to Ohio. I'm down to 2 facings for their beer and plan on being done with them very soon!

This was my first experience with Nut Smasher, and I had the Weasel version first. It was amazing. It seemed to hit all the right notes, and I could feel pops in my mouth as the different flavors fought for dominance, and it all just worked so well together.

The B.A. Nut Smasher was far more subdued, as you said. It still was a good beer, but it lacked the flair that the Weasel had.

So this weekend we decided to start hitting the last few breweries in the Cleveland area we have not been to yet, which Saturday included Brick and Barrel and Sibling Revelry.

Brick and Barrel was a cool spot, reminded me of something like Burial in Asheville in terms of it’s simple, no-frills taproom. Beers were OK at best. We sampled nearly every option on tap, but nothing stood out at all. Not sure if we would ever go out of our way to stop back here again.

Sibling Revelry was next… Only had their IPA via can before and was curious how their other beers are. The taproom itself is incredible… Pristine, clean and quiet which I loved. Just a beautiful space all around. They had snacks (gourmet popcorn, jerky) for purchase along with free bags of pretzels. Nice touch. Just enough for a taproom, IMO!

Beer was better than B&B for sure, but overall was very middle-of-the-road. The Rye IPA was my favorite of our giant Ohio sampler board (we tried every beer on). The lavender wit was unique and the porter/stout were quite nice. I didn’t love any of the beer, but the atmosphere and laid back chill of the place would bring us back for sure.

Next up on our list is Goldhorn, perhaps this weekend.

I've only been to Brick and Barrel a few times, and I've honestly found a few of their offerings to be bangin'. They definitely have some "just OK" stuff, but I really enjoy Bitter Chief, Double Chief, and the BA Maple Wee Heavy.

Nothing really stands out too much at Sibling, but their IPA on draft is pretty tasty. The can didn't seem to translate for me. What I like about them, though, is that they're moving slow. Most of the styles they have are relatively basic and they're slowly getting more adventurous. I think that is a good approach, and I am looking forward to seeing more from them.

I hit up platform this weekend, same approach, it was on my list of places to visit, had a great easy going time. We went during the afternoon to avoid a night scene, and it worked out great. Easy service, tried most everything on tap, and didn't have to yell over volume while just chilling. Nothing blew me away, but nothing let me down either. Look for the Funky Guavo when it hits cans, that might have been my favorite on the list. I know city boy is canned, but I tried it first this weekend on tap, and it was very good.

BA Chickow is easily the best beer that Listermann/Triple Digit makes. It certainly was on par with the other beers I had there this weekend. Although I naturally didn't try all of them (I'm a huge wuss I know).

WWS and Beer for Breakfast have started hitting in Cincinnati.

Good to know. Personally, I prefer their Carnium and BA Shamrock Shake over some of the others but it's really awesome that they won the award. Its probably the biggest award a cincy brewery has received, maybe except for 50 west's gold at GABF.

I know Jungle Jims has already gotten their shipment of WWS..

Agree, on Cranium...I think it's the best beer that they make...hell, I'd go so far as to say It's one of, if not the best beer brewed in Cincinnati.

Disagree on BA Shamrock...tastes too medicinal to me.

I agree that Cranium could be the best BA stout in cincy now, though I haven't had Old Wooden Tooth (heard really good things). Excited about the new/revamped BA stouts coming out and the ones all the newer breweries (woodburns and northern kentuck breweries) are hopefully going to make.

I had Old Wooden Tooth this past weekend at FOBAB and I was pretty underwhelmed. The Independent was fantastic, but of course the bottle issue shoots that one in the foot.
