    Baaaa-zinga!

The thing is, I liked barleywine the first year, and then I kind of got over it. It's definitely a good beer, I just don't care enough to buy it (and also, that means more for other people who really like it). I also don't like coffee beers in general, so BCBCS is usually my least favorite variant. I may purchase some this year though, since it sounds like it and Reg are going to be my favorites.

I'll probably buy a bottle or two of Prop if possible (I'm not gonna pass on it before I've tried it), but I'm definitely not looking forward to all that spice. I love spicy food, but I don't like it in my beer (and both wreck my stomach).

It goes beyond just if you like hot pepper or not. The beer is extermly unbalanced and smoky. I honestly didnt find it to be that spicy. Its just a shitty beer. Tasted like smokey blue cheese.

One person's unbalanced is another's complex. They don't meld together as a subtle blend, but all the different flavors hit big on your palate at different times creating a complex beverage. There isn't anything delicate about this. It's a big beer with big, bold flavors.

No its a terrible beer. This one will be very polarizing. Thats for sure.

For those that don't like it, don't drain pour it. It would make a wonderful BBQ sauce.

Ha! I thought the same thing when I saw the adjuncts. It's pricey for a sauce/marinade though...

I'm headed to Terre Haute for Thanksgiving and just called Bourbon and Canal to ask how they were handling the release. They just received word today from their distributor that the distributor would not be getting any BCBS; that impacts the entire Terre Haute region and beyond. They suggested I check over in Indy or Evansville areas.

Per the binnys blog there is going to be BCBS Rare to buy as one of the vintages. " very limited amount". So 10 bottles?

That is probably one of the bottles I'm least interested in. No need to drop $70 (or more) on that beer again. Vintage BCBCS would be the thing I'm probably most looking forward to, or possibly pre-2012 regular.

I would probably pass on Rare again, maybe. Last year I got 2x 2014 Coffee and that was by far my favorite of the bunch. That is really what I hold out hope for. I will let the Vanilla Rye go to those people last year in the lawn chairs with a blanket, in a rain//slush storm. If you can sit there for 10 hours. Take it.

Even the first batch of Rare, while amazing, wouldn't be worth the likely price tag.

The only vintage I could see dropping serious coin on would be a non-BCBS release (technically), King Henry.

True. Original Rare would be quite the catch and I can't imagine the price they could put it at. I won't be there early enough to find out.

I heard all Binny's would have Rare this year, has anyone else heard this? Very limited bottles per location.

Question for you Chicago area peeps - is it easy to find cases of the less rare variants and coffee in the city? I am in PA and it's not easy to get more than a few bottles. My brother in laws girlfriend moved out to Chicago for work and I'm thinking about asking her if she can pick up a case and bring back for the Holidays? Will I have her on a wild goose (no pun intended) chase? Will she have to wait in a line to be able to get a case or more than a few bottles or is that madness just for the Rare?
