Wondering if any bars in Chicago will be tapping any Bourbon county from previous years and/or variants ahead of Thanksgiving Day. I'm from the suburbs so back in town and will be downtown on Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

    Cheers

I think Sheffields has something going on that Wednesday night.

Sluggers is having an all you can drink BCBS event, with variants.

    $20 entry.

FYI, this has already been discussed in the regular 2016 Chicago Black Friday thread as well.

I'll be downtown on Wednesday and then in Elmhurst/Oak Brook Thursday through Sunday.

    1) How do you know, out of curiosity?

    2) This isn't toooo far from me, so I'm mildly interested. Have they had one of these events before, and if so, was it a clusterfuck?

Shirley you don't believe this troll post. They may be having an all you can drink Bud Lite and Fireball special but not this

I don't know Sluggers at all, honestly. That whole area is a shitshow, so it wouldn't surprise me if there's randomly a place on Clark that actually has good beer and flew under my radar (I mean, GI was there for a while).

But thanks for deflating my bubble. :slight_frown:

The smell of stale Bud Lite and vomit in that place is enough to bring you to your knees.

Lol. 20 years ago Sluggers was slumming it for Wrigleyville. If that is true they have BCBS, then the Rickett's really have succeeded in destroying the neighborhood.

There's a place in Wheaton, called Warren's Ale House that is doing a Black Friday BCS brunch at 10AM and typically has 4-5 versions of BCS plus Big John etc on tap. I don't know for certain, but around your suburban location, I'd look up Standard Market(also just a good place to get local stuff too) in Westmont, maybe Beer House in Lombard. They'll probably have some BCS on tap or on sale during the time you're in Oak Brook and all are withing probably 15 minutes of where you'll be.

Didn't really matter where he said it was at.... "$20 for all you can drink BCS variants" would be absolutely insane. Although I imagine in tiny print somewhere it would say "(infected bottles only)".

For whatever reason, I mentally corrected the statement to "$20 for entry, all you can drink BCBS (meaning no limit on what you can buy)". Totally agree that as written it doesn't read like anything but a troll post, but apparently I've gone to too many beer events, so my mind now corrects descriptions I don't think could be right. :flushed:

Not Blackout Wednesday but we have enough BCBS threads. How about Blacked Up Tuesday?

LOL, is that the entrance fee to get inside the bar, before you're hit up via paying some ridiculous price for one of the BCBS beers? I still remember one of the bars near Clark and Sheffield(want to say Dark Horse, but not 100% sure) per Untappd checkins, had an event where you had to pay like $100 to get one of the BCBS bottles. No thank you!

Is it any wonder why I usually avoid bars very close to Wrigley anyway? Sheffield's and Gingerman being among the rare exceptions, I'll go to in that area. And Goose Island, before that location shut down.
