Me and 2 buddies went to evergreen park last year. I think we got there around 3:30 and were 25, 26 & 27 in line. We got all variants except rare. The 24th person got the last one

Allocation is the same at every binnys. 2 Reg, 1 Coffee, 1 Barley Wine, 1 Prop while supplies last. If you want prop you are looking at 3-5 am depending on location.

1- LP Binny's started the whole BCBS release thing as they were a block away from GI. It is tradition to have the release there.
2- What looks better for marketing having 5 people camp out at a store in Bolingbrook or having 1,000 camp out in Chicago where the press will give coverage and tens of thousands of shoppers will drive by and wonder "What is going on at Binnys?"
3- If you found the answer for #2, you'll then know what happens if you have 1,000 people camped out all night not getting any beer the next day. They want to make sure they have way too much rather than way too little.
4- It's across the street from Goose Island, if you can sell people the beer and then have them walk over and try it on draft it is win-win for Binny's and Goose and makes for a more memorable day.

Some of the reports from the burbs are just weird to me. I walked in to my Binny's at 10 last year and got 2 regular and a barleywine. I'm going to try showing up an hour or two early and see what happens. There's only 4 variants this year anyways and Prop sounds like a tire fire.

Yeah, the marketing thing is huge now that AB-InBev owns GI. I remember when I was at LP 2 years ago, GI people came by (while we were freezing and miserable) and said "we're gonna bring a camera by, cheer and look happy so we can show this to our bosses!"

They care quite a bit about the spectacle around Black Friday, so it makes total sense to concentrate that in one location, as opposed to diluting the madness across every Binny's in the state.

Thanks for all the feedback. So if I was just interested in getting a bottle of Prop, don't care about the vintage ones, what time do you think I'd have to be at the main LP by? Biggest issue is I don't have a car so it would be a hassle getting downtown from the burbs.

The price of BCBS has gone up just about every year since I started buying it in 2011.

Def learned my lesson at a suburban Binnys. If I'm waiting at all it'll be at Lincoln Park. After arriving at Mchenry at 1 am and being 9th in line I thought I was sitting pretty. To get shut out on most variants, sucked.

They had 4 prop , 8 Rare and 5 regal available plus like two cases of coffee and not enough regular for a lot of the people in line.

Heard about people getting full allotments at LP after arriving at 10 am. Just not worth it anymore waiting that long

    Quality control is 'spensive.

As I've been saying since last year's ended, there will be a monster turn out this year in LP because everyone has been saying how easy it was to get and you can just stroll in after 9am and get a full allotment. Look at all the people shafted in the 'burbs who said they are going to do LP now. The 2017 release will be the one to go to because it will be a down year after everyone talks about how 2016 was such a $hitshow.

And I'm fine with that. If I get shutout, whatever. At least I got to sleep and didn't have to wait in the cold. I'll be able to hopefully find another bottle or 2 of coffee/prop throughout the season.

So...LP is the one to go to because they get the most beer....but maybe you shouldn't go this year because it will be a shitshow?

1st quote= WHY they get the most allocation, not why it is the one to go to.
2nd quote= It's going to be a shit show because people are saying it is easy to get from LP...Think Grapes of Wrath and California in the 1930s....
