an old standby to me sounds like it could be something standard like hophands but old implies that it hasn't been released in awhile? trying to think of something that was released on a regular basis that we haven't seen in awhile, vibrating at the same frequency?
a comforting friend from last year, chasing the bloom just given the time period?
a very pungent riff on one of our favorite styles, another lager? they do love their lagers.

Chairs are going to be a regular occurrence, but I only have an issue if people are dropping off chairs in the morning and going to work, or leaving the area to run errands. That is just abusing the system in place. I use complaining - because it is a losing battle, but where does it end, it will basically become a rush of people dumping chairs on their way to work and then rolling up at 4:55

I dont see how they can say that and NOT can Punge. As for the old standby I'm pretty sure its Hophands. They haven't done that in a month now.

I guess my thinking is the way it's worded makes it sound like it's something they've never done before.

I could see that for the 2nd can. An old favorite from last year. Haven't they only done cans starting in 2016?

I mean never done before as in ever, not just canned. But yes, it sounds like the second one will be something they have never canned, but brewed last year. So it's anyone's guess.

for the old fave i'll guess Foliage or Sea of Green. for the comforting friend I'm thinking something dark so I'm Sad? and I'd agree that the other would be a hopped up lager.

I just don't get why one, upon arriving to a chair in front of them, would not just step in front of the chair...that person won't be back for hours anyway.

I've thought about that. The problem is they are all usually so close together just to make room for yourself you would basically have to move 100+ chairs depending on when you got there.

yeah if you show up and are right behind the chair portion of line you are like within the first 100 people and are getting the allotment anyways.

Hophands feels too easy, although they are releasing 3 cans. I imagine an old standby is one they brew all year. Second has got to be punge. People lose their shit for Punge. No clue what the third is, besides riffing on trendler or something lagered.

Speaking of these two places how are things going there? I keep hearing more and more positive things about Hidden River and the stuff I have had from them has been great but I have not been there myself yet. Seems like they have a pretty small system and are nowhere near being able to can or distribute in any way. La Cabra looks like a nice spot but chatter about them seems to have dropped off? I got the vibe from them as more of a Forest and Main type spot that would start releasing bottles eventually.

I got to check out Hidden River for the first time last weekend and was totally blown away. Yes on the surface it is very much "Tired Hands 2.0" but the everything I had tasted a little fresher and more focussed. I don't think Tired Hands is pretentious, but if you do you wouldn't think Hidden River was. Standouts were a nearly perfect cider and an NE style IPA that was straight up fruit juice. Wish it wasn't so far! Hoping they begin to distribute to Philly...

It's one of my faves....need to cleanse the palate of haze juice every now and then.

I should create a thread for Hidden River and Stickman Brewing. I don't think either of those have any recognition in the Mid-Atlantic forum. If either of these 2 start canning ill be in heaven.
