#9 is just a little bit ahead of Juice is Loose for me. But I have a Juice is loose ready, just to double check of course haha.

No one responded to my query on Cumulus, you bunch of assholes (), so I'll answer it myself:

BeerMenus appears to show that Cumulus is indeed being shipped out again (Prestige Liquors in some supposed place called "Westmont IL" has it), so I guess that's next up for me. It's been long enough since I last had it that I want to remember what I liked about it (and since it's a little more similar to the Alchemist's stuff than it is something like Treehouse, I want to see how it stacks up to Heady and Co.).

If you are going down to Westmont sometime. Let me Know, that is my home base haha.

Hahaha I knew as soon as I said it that someone here would chime in with "hey, dick, I live there!" Didn't realize it was right near Downer's Grove. But yeah, if I venture down to the south side I'll let you know!

Also, thank you, because I may be in the minority, but Cumulus is one of my top favorites. #9, and Juice is loose and Cumulus are tied for second.

I don't live there, but the brewery I work at is 2 blocks away from Prestige liquors.

It's crazy that this type of beer has a wide range of "this one is my favorite". RAM juicy is my fav from Chicago area. I like juicy slightly more than Julius. Very hazy is my fav from the east coast.

But my personal fav hazy beer is codename: superfan by odd13 in Denver. But it doesn't get much national attention or trade requests.

I've headed down there a few times - it's 15 minutes or a bit more from my house - they will get some pretty good drops. I think they had Dogfish 120 before anyone else and last week had KBS, which I had completely missed out on previously.

I'm hoping they get Cumulus soon too, since I'd rather grab it from them.

I think it's something we're all used to (everyone having different favorites), but since there are only a few of this style in the city, it sticks out more. Also, the hype on these beers isn't just because of quality; there's always a huge combination of factors. Hell, I'd argue that a beer like Big Hugs coming from Goose Island wouldn't merit a second mention, and yet people line up for hours for it when Half Acre releases it (and to be clear, I think Half Acre has some really upper tier stuff; just not Big Hugs).

Yeah, they always seem to get shit before everyone else, which drives me crazy. It's constantly popping up on my BeerMenus account, and then I see it's Prestige Liquors (which I'm not driving to), I get mad.

They just canned a new batch yesterday, so I'd be pretty surprised if they started distro'ing it already. Seems they usually take a week or so to get their stuff out to places not named the Open Bottle. That Prestige likely has the last batch still. Thankfully Hailstorm dates the cans so it'll be easy to tell if it's fresh or not.

Interesting. That shows on BA as a year round release. I have a couple Odd13 wild ales in my cellar that were sent to me by a friend out there. I'll put her on the lookout.

Weirdly, no. At least in the last batch (this is a completely different set of hops than the last). Son of Juice is hazier with a little softer/fuller mouthfeel. Juice Pants was, in my experience a little brighter in terms of the hops, and slightly less bitter (in that it was one of the least bitter IPAs I've ever had). It's not a "big" beer by any means. I really liked it, but I feel like I'm in the minority here (I also don't like SoJ much).

Juice Pants batch 2 used Conan yeast (the yeast in Heady Topper), which probably partially explains why there was so little bitterness. No idea if batch 3 will have it, nor do I remember if SoJ did.

Yea it's their staple IPA. They do a bunch of special release stuff, but codename superfan is always available.

Useless post, but not being native to Chicago or IL, I had zero idea what Hop Butcher For The World meant or implied until I looked it up. Pretty cool.
