2 month old frozen wet hops

    LHBS still has some mosaic wet hops they stored in the freezer. When they first got them in I checked them out. Cracked the hop cone and smelt the lupulin. They smelt amazing but wasn't planning on brewing with hops.

    2 months later they still have them stored in a freezer and selling them $12 for 1/2 a lb.

    Are the hops worth getting over some pellets? Curious if the benefit of fresh wet hops are gone now that they are 2 months old and frozen.

    It's a done deal. The rewards for pellets are outstanding:

    They're generally less expensive.
    I don't have to make an extra gallon of beer for an IPA.
    I don't worry about clogging strainer or siphons.
    I can fit 4x more hops in my freezer.
    My vacuum sealer actually holds a seal on pellets. It doesn't with whole hops quite often. I'm not sure why. I'll start double sealing everything from now on. :slight_smile:
