Kane Brewing (November 2016)

Thanks to everyone at Kane for putting together a great event on Sunday. Nice of them to donate their time, and the space (and the beer).

 

kanebrewing Wind Swell will be on tap for the first time at the brewery tonight during our tour and tasting hours from 5-8pm. Wind Swell is an 8.2% Imperial IPA brewed with all Mosaic in the kettle and double dry hopped with a combination of Mosaic and Citra hops. Available for samples and growler fills.

Also on tap for samples tonight, Sunday Brunch. It's been a while since we've had a dark beer on tap at the brewery, so we thought we'd do something about that.

That doesn't sound good at all.

 

Does Kane do flights? I see they say samples but how big are those?

 

They do flights, 4 4oz pours. The beers you see under Samples are not part of flights and can only be purchase as individual 4oz pours. The beers under Samples | Growlers can all be in the flight as well as regular sized pours.

 

The color on that is stellar.

 

I could swear when I was in there, they told me the stuff under 'Samples' was also available for full sized pours, just not growlers (and I was able to order a full-sized pour). I could be remembering it wrong.

 

You might be right. I normally only order 4oz pours and growlers from Kane, I dont really pay attention to the other sizes.

If possible, could someone who makes it there this weekend inquire about hours for next week?

 

FWIW last year Thanksgiving week hours were

Wed 3-8
Fri 3-8
Sat 12-7
Sun 12-5

 

Thanks for posting. Wonder if they will keep it the same this year.

 

I'm sure I'm in the minority but I wish they were open on Thanksgiving night. I'll be visiting family 20 mins and could definitely see sneaking out after all the festivities. And since they open so late the day after I won't be able to that either.

Such first world problems...

The answer is.. BOTH! Sometimes they do limit beers to 4oz but not always. In most cases the samples section also allows 8oz or 12oz pours (and its indicated on the board what is allowed!)

 

My 8oz pour of Sunday brunch was delicious.

 

Just left. There was a sign on the bar. I believe it said they'd be open 5-8 on Wednesday
