The 2-day Festival pass wasn't worth it. In hindsight, I should have known I wouldn't have much desire to attend another freaking beer festival the day after a beer festival. I had more fun seeing King Khan & the BBQ at the Casbah on night one. It was my first SDBW though, so live and learn.

I had more success just stopping by my favorite spots (AleSmith, Abnormal, Urge), all of which had tasty treats for Beer Week.

This was the first SDBW I got to truly participate in since I moved here a week or two before last years and was still getting my bearings. My brother and his gf were in town for half the week and we all had a blast. Hit up Alesmith multiple times, Council, Rip Current, Toronado, Council, O'Brien's, Kilowatt, etc and had nothing but great beer and awesome experiences. My brother and his gf commented multiple times about how nice and welcoming everyone was. My liver hurts, but I had a blast.

P.S. Bummed I missed King Khan but I was on the east coast for the weekend. That was probably an awesome show.

There's like... a million fucking events that aren't "paid events." You could have just gone to Toronado for 10 straight days and drank a fuck-ton of great beer every single day.

    Let's see:

Fri public house for the pairing
Sat. Hamiltons for the karl Strauss lineup and food
Sun iron pig for abnormal brunch
Wed. Obriens bba tto& food (David, didn't see you there, what happened?)
Thurs. Bottlecraft for abnormal release (again)
Fri alesmith laps 2,3& vip (btw if u poured the smoke into either the toothpaste, it was slightly better whereas I used another combo though can't recall however made it much better
Sat thorn st brewery for carnitas snack snack brunch then followed up by New English brew co for their bba goodness re release.

While I do agree that some events were hokey and for possible tourists (60% I'd say) this year was fucking costly.

Side note: oh shit! Kindle fire actually had the f word as part of its vocabulary.odd

Went a little hard at Alesmith and decided that my Thursday morning meetings and work would not benefit from me going to another event. I had to adult. =(

Out of pocket for not-beer as far as I can recall:
friday - $7 for a burrito & horchata prior to the T!T! Highland Park vs. Cellarmaker
sat - nothing additional (ate at home)
sun - nothing additional (ate at home)
mon - $40 for a cheese/meat plate for the bottleshare I hosted at my house
tue - $50 (with tax) for the cheese/beer pairing at Alesmith, tough to break this up since beer was included in the price so figured might as well just say the entire ticket as it was a private event
    wed - $6 for tacos + $25 grand prix
    thur - $25 grand prix
    fri - $25 grand prix
sat - nothing additional (ate at home)
sun - $35 if we count the grumbler of bavss I bought as an event of "leftover from sdbw fill day"

So roughly $215 for events, grumbler, and extra food. Could have been a lot worse.

As for what I am out if you add in beer to that...well....lets just say that I have been hunting deals a bit more than usual for the rest of this month. =P

Edit: Forgot to add in Grand Prix tickets, although it was technically beer.
