    From the article:

"Big Bad Baptist is on its way across the country now and will be appearing on shelves during October. Double Barrel Big Bad Baptist and Big Bad Baptista will follow shortly with releases in November. Be sure to look for 2016 Rare Release labels and don’t forget to grab an extra for the cellar."

Speaking of BA coffee beans - I recently had City of the Dead from Modern Times. I think the mouthfeel was a bit smoother but, other than that, I couldn't pick up much barrel-aged anything. Hell, might've been the influence of knowing it was brewed with BA coffee that made me think I picked up a difference. To each their own but a side-by-side comparison would be fun...

Had a DB last night. Very well executed and loved what the BA Coffee did to the overall flavor profile. Definitely worth seeking these out.

Have these already hit the shelves for bottles, or did you have it on tap?

Rishi's had it in bottles. First in the state, the rest is hitting next week. They were also pouring samples of DBB and Baptista, and of the two I preferred the Baptista. Bought two DBB, I got home and cracked one... then I wasn't sure which one I liked more. I'll be looking for both next week for sure.

    *Edit*
They were already out of Baptista when I got to Rishi's. My Baptista sample was out of their last opened bottle.

Thanks for the info. I'll have my brother in the Detroit area keep an eye out for me, although it's not likely he will be able to grab me one.

I agree. It was quite different than the regular version to me, and unfortunately I enjoyed it even more.. Really incredible beer. Also Baptista is absolutely phenomenal IMO. I liked it much more than any other stout with cinnamon I've had. Obviously it's quite different than Abraxas, but Baptista blew Abraxas out of the water for me.

Picked up reg BBB, Baptista, and Double Barrel BBB. Can't wait to try.
I think I paid $14.29/ea. for the Baptista and Double Barrel.

In Michigan I would try to concentrate your efforts on the whole foods, plum market, Busch's front.

I tried them both and they were very good. I'll pick up a bottle of each and will be content with that. Big bad is such an underated brew and while I was stoked with these variants, they are coming out during that time of the year when I have to hide my credit card statement from the wife ;-) They just don't separate themselves from the pack enough for me to go wild.

Anyone else think the 'rare release' on the tag/label kinda cheapens the offering? I think its kind of dumb, especially considering they already have a cool label .... but maybe thats just me :confused:

Does anyone have any info on the distro of DB and baptista versions? Maybe a dumb question but we get regular BBB but no one in my area seems to know if we are getting these two.
I checked their website but couldn't find anything conclusive.

Both of these are hitting Cincinnati over the next two weeks. Looking forward to trying them both. Kegs at Cappy's in Loveland on Saturday.

Opposite for me. I was thinking, man I like those label additions.

But I'm also a graphic designer. I love the smell of freshly printed paper almost as much as a nice roasty stout.

Double Barrel and Baptista just released here in Massachusetts, albeit in limited amounts, so it seems like both variations should hit limited distribution in all Epic regions.

Yep, right up there with Avery putting "BREWERY ONLY" on some of their 12 ounce sour releases

Had my first BBB last night (release 71). Man was it glorious! Hope I can get one of each of these.
