4 realz? I guess I know where to break into this weekend...

I've only been through there once (Sunday Funday) and haven't been lucky enough to get tickets to either Rare or Prop Day. Hell, I've even got a couple of empty BCS barrels and still wasn't really in the barrel warehouse to pick them up! :stuck_out_tongue:

LOL. Yea, I dont know obviously how its normally laid out but saw plenty of Rare, Nilla Rye, ect on pallets off in the distance.

Anyone heading out to Sheffield's or Fountainhead on Wednesday night? I'll most likely go to Sheffield's, but does anyone have experience with one being better/worse than the other for this event? I'll also be rolling solo, in case anyone is looking to meet up.

Not to build up expectations, but just basis last year, I got in line around 9:30 (went to grand first, a mistake in hindsight clearly) and still got 2x 2014 Coffee when I got through the line. Who knows what the counts are this year, but I wouldn't rule it out if you got there at a reasonable (see: 7am onward) time.

Then again it's hard to fathom there won't be a huge pop in attendance at LP this year, as many have already pointed out.

Thanks for the info. I'm not so sure if there will be a huge pop in attendance...don't forget all those people that won't ever buy BCBS again because of infection!

Honestly, I'm still unsure what'll happen. Normally I'd say yeah, of course they'll be an uptick in people. But plenty of people were turned off by Prop at FoBAB (and maybe they're not all reading the current HYPEEEEEE on Prop Day Prop), even more were turned off by the infection debacle, and there's also no Rye variant or Rare this year. So part of me thinks it all evens out, and it'll just be a similar line to last year.

But then again, the Chicago beer scene has proven time and again that it always only gets worse, never better (or even the same).

930am Friday, eh? I'll be there 12 hours beforehand.:grinning: Have not been to Binnys LP and looking forward to the experience.

Serious question for those that are there overnight...do you sleep while you're there (in a tent, chair or ground?) or do you just push through without sleep. I have no plans on trying to go without sleep - it just doesn't seem viable with having to do family & kids stuff later in the day.

I do not sleep outside of the Binnys.

Anyone else that hit LP last year have the 10 x 10 pop up tailgating tents? Looks like there is parking in the area so with a chance of inclement weather, I may drag one along.

So I've done both. I typically go by myself so I'm on that extreme as well. Sleeping makes sense if you have a solid set up. If not, it's not worth it to get there and try to sit in a chair. To each their own, but especially if it rains sitting there is pretty much the opposite of fun. 11pm-3 am really doesn't make much of a difference.

if You can also find a place to park if you're lucky enough, then stake your claim in line and hit the vehicle for strategic pitstops, etc. throughout your stay.

As great as that sounds, it'll be time to move on to normal activities in the afternoon. Plus, it seems like GI Clybourn will be a madhouse that day...much worse than the regular BCBS tappings that are held around the city in the following months.

That is kinda what I was thinking, and I have no plans to have a tent...just a camping chair. I was gonna get up around 4 am or so and head over, then I realized that if my family don't really "miss me" (I know, that's generous) if I'm gone from 11pm to 4 am, why not just get there earlier to try and secure a better variant. But, losing out on 5 hours of sleep doesn't seem like a winning formula to me.

Can you park across the street in the Best Buy lot?

A friend & I are going to Sheffields. Went last year & got to try everything on draft & had a few vintage bottles. I can DM you our ETA & identifying information (neckbeards, guts, tattoos)*.

Cool - sounds good to me. I live just a couple blocks from Sheffield's, so it's super convenient for me.

I would guess no on that one...it seems like it's perhaps one of the busiest parking lots in the city...same with the GI Clybourn/BBB parking lot. I have wondered if you can park in the garage for Trader Joe's/BW3...anyone know?

I'm a huge Bourbon County fanboy (it and its variants remain my favorite beers and I buy them whenever I can) but there's no fucking way I'm sleeping outside for it or even waiting in line for it beyond a reasonable number of hours.

That said, for those who are spending the night here's to no precipitation and relative warmth.

Lots of people brought canopy tents. Might need it looking at the weather. Looks like 50% chance of rain.

Guy last year next to us brought some sort of cocoon type sleeping bag. Was pretty awesome ha.

Should be plenty of room in Binnys lot if you get there early enough. We took trips to the car to warm up or nap for a little. Honestly, it went by so fast last year I didn't mind being out there so early. It was also 55* until midnight so that helped
