ABGBS was brewery only last year but KCM made it to NOVA in very small amounts. There was a lot of truck chasing for KCM so it was a tough one to get. The Hardywood Nova rep posted in another group that rum GBS will be brewery only this year.

I think it was X-Mas Morning that made it to NoVA in limited amounts last year, not KCM. KCM had that utter shitshow at the brewery, with 600 people in line when they opened and many of those people being shut out. They issued a public apology for how poorly they handled it.

I grabbed a Kentucky Christmas at Dominion last year after missing at Wegmans and Total Wine. They all got KCM last year in small amounts. Not sure what their plan is for this year.

Not sure if it's in bottles or draft-only, but SingleCut Harry Doesn't Mind is worth seeking out.

Is there a lot more Abraxas than previous years or is it all pretty much gone?

I saw 4 packs of Backwoods Bastard there a couple weeks ago for 31.99. These guys are straight up crooks.

Seems about the same as last year and there could be a couple of stragglers tomorrow but most likely all the low hanging fruit is gone. I would plan on driving outside the beltway for it - call to TW Manassas and Sterling, also try Whole Foods Fair Lakes, don't recall if Wegmans got any last year but that is worth a call

Best thing we can do is let it sit there forever.

Anybody know if MD gets some as well or is it VA distribution only?

DTC will have it as part of their black friday release. Think they are letting people choose between BCBS and Abraxas.

Anybody know if the allocation by Goose sales volume applies to Coffee as well as Regular? It seems like the Harris Teeter had a shiteload of Regular last year but not Coffee, whereas the more beer centered places had all the Coffee (and Barleywine).

Any beers you'd compare it to? What hops are in it?

No idea on the hops and I tried searching. I'd be willing to bet it's fermented with either Conan or London III. They make mention of an "alternative yeast strain."

Quite hazy with lots of stone fruit fermentation character. Citrusy hops. Soft bitterness. Too drinkable at 8%.

I can't really give any comparisons without being overly hyperbolic, but it's a very well-made New England-style IPA.

This is a good question and I don't know. As you mentioned, they do seem to spread the variants around more to beer centric places.
